So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all the great suggestions- I did make an appointment with Dr. LaBarge, so I'm sure she'll be great. Someone in my office recommended Lutheran General as well, so it's good to know she's on staff there. Thank you again!

Hi K.,

Another vote for Dr. Garvey at Northwestern :) I recently had my baby at Prentice and Dr. Garvey was not scheduled to be working at the hospital, but he finished his office visits and came right over to Prentice to delivery my baby :) I can't say enough great things about him!
I also love Dr. Moses and Dr. Chen. The whole group is wonderful though :)
Good luck!
A.

I too have BCBS PPO and have going to Northwest OB/Gyn for years. They are located at Canfield and Talcott in Park Ridge and doctors are on staff at both Lutheran General and Resurrection. There are four doctors in the group, 2 male and 2 female. I've been satisfied with them all, though Dr. Scarimbolo is my favorite.

Dr. Catherine Clinton has an office in Northwestern Memorial Hospital--right down the hall from the Triage where you go when you are in labor! Its great because you get comfortable with the hospital if you want to deliver there--which I would highly recommend as I had a great experience.
Dr. Clinton saved my son's life--I almost lost him at 19 weeks and if she hadn't been so quick to act and get me the best specialty care, I would never have been able to carry him all the way to 40 weeks! There are several other ob/gyns in the office and I have had appointments with all of them (if I couldn't get in with Dr. Clinton--I had to go every week when I was pregnant). They are all GREAT doctors--they listen, they are caring and gentle and SO knowledgeable. The nurses in that office are TOP NOTCH as well. I am not good around doctors--to find this office was a total blaessing for me :) You can go on the Northwestern Memorial webiste and go to physcican referral to get her number...she's in the Chicago Women's Health Group at Prentice.

I have the same insurance and I go to Womens Group of Northwestern. They have a practice in the city and one in Northbork. I had my son with them last year and I am very happy. I have gone to them for nearly 10 years.

I started with Women First with Dr. Bajewski (sp?) (already mentioned) though the practice had different doctors. He was very good and I liked him. I another Dr. delivered my first son. When practice changed I moved to Northwest Ob-Gyn ###-###-#### on Talcott & Canfield which someone else recommended as well. My doctor is Dr. LaBarge. She's great! She totally gets it, has a great sense of humor, and tells it like it is. She has four kids of her own so she knows. She delivered my second son who was 6 weeks early. I like all of the doctors in the practice (which you have to see all of them when your pregnant). Though Dr. Cushing always made me wait the longest. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child and I love the entire staff there. I have only seen them for this pregnancy as my last OB retired, this office came highly recommended and I feel lucky to have found them. I know that they take that insurance b/c I have the same.
Any questions let me know. C.

The NMPG Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) division offers comprehensive physician, nurse-midwife, doula and massage services. For our pregnant patients, on-site ultrasonography, fetal monitoring and maternal fetal medicine consultations are available five days a week. We offer traditional and natural water births. We also specialize in gynecological care for women throughout their entire adult lifespan. Our OB/GYN surgeons perform a full compliment of gynecological procedures, including the latest minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures. All NMPG Obstetricians and Gynecologists are on staff at Northwestern Memorial Prentice Women's Hospital

I use a group from Northwestern Hospital. My OB/GYN is Tim Garvey and he is amazing. I have also seen Scott Moses-who had a great attitude and very willing to answer questions and Dr Chen delivered my baby girl in January. The whole group is great. My experience at Northwestern was great too. They are opeing their brand new hospital in October of 2007, so it will be top of the line there. I use the one in Streeterville Office - OB/GYN
