So What Happened?

I would like to thank all of you for your responses. Unfortunately none of the recommended doctors accept my insurance, but I did look into other posted questions and found some recommendations for a doctor that does take my insurance. I was disappointed none of the ones listed here do because I have heard these same recommendations from others. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

I'd have to second Greenbriar OB/GYN. There are two male doctors, one female, and although I only have experience with Dr. Pickford (female), I understand that the others are equally fabulous.

We live in Chantilly, off of Centerville Rd (near St. Veronica's Church) and I also go to GreenBriar OB-Gyn. They're still close but in FFX (about 10mins from our house). It's a practice of just 3 doctors but the other posted was incorrect, it's 1 male, the Sr doctor, Ray Wertheim & 2 female docs - Laura Pickford & Sarita Gopal and a Nurse Practioner (Connie). They are great! They are only affiliated with Fair Oaks hospital. I did alot of research and they were my top pick mainly because they are a practice of just 3 (unlike many that are 5 or more) which makes a difference when you are pregnant & have to rotate through all the doctors during your pregnancy and Fair Oaks hospital is also the closest hosp to our house.

Alright, I'm pretty sure that the partnership I used during my pregnancy with my daughter recently moved towards that area. I really had a good experience with them while i was pregnant and even in the hospital. I found that Dr. Grimm was gentile and caring and helpful. He was the first Male OBGYN that I ever saw. here is their new info.

Dr. Eleni Solos-Kontouris, she is Centreville - ###-###-####

I had such a wonderful experience with her. She delivered my first and only child. She is honest and really paid attention to my concerns. I ended up getting really sick after my c-section (turns out it was the flu) and she took every precaution possible with me. SHe is very respected at Fair Oaks hospital. My sister now goes to her, she has no kids and is not expecting but has had all kinds of gyn issues and she loves her also. The other thing is, she is the only Dr in her practice so you would see her everytime!!!

I moved here 8 years ago and someone mentioned to me Greenbriar OB/Gyn and I went. They were great and have since delivered two of my children and six of my friends kids, all different women. Great professional practice. Their phone number is ###-###-####. I hope this helps.

Greenbriar OB/GYN!!! Hands down. I had another OB/GYN and I was so disappointed with their lack of personal skills. I went searching for another OB/GYN. I went to the hospital that I wanted to deliver in (Fairoaks) and went to the maternity section. I talked with nurses there that work with the doctors and asked for a recommendation of a group that was good to work with, competent and reputable. I was (unofficially) told Greenbriar was great. All the doctors have a reputation for being great to work with and the nurse I was speaking to was also a client.

I then talked with people in the office when I went to visit and got GLOWING reviews. I met the staff and was very happy with their interpersonal skills and to top it off found out shortly after that my friend who had just delivered was also a client. She gave the most glowing review... and now I give them to everyone searching!

Good luck. The doctors all have very different personalities, but I can safely say, I would be comfortable with any of them in the delivery room. I had the pleasure of delivering 2 children with different doctors there and I was beyond happy with their care.

I love this practice and I'm so happy we found them. I hope you enjoy them too.

Good luck to you.
Liz

I go to Northern VA OB/Gyn Associates. They are in the professional building attached to Fair Oaks Hospital and have privileges there and at Fairfax Hospital. They also have an office in Fairfax city somewhere though I never went there. They are great! They are a bigger practice with 5-6 doctors. I actually liked having a bigger practice and meeting all the doctors through my prenatal visits. Even though its more people to deal with, I had a good chance that someone I actually met would deliver my baby - where with smaller practices they share on-call hours with other practices so if you don't happen to go into labor when one of your doctors is on call you end up with a stranger.
just something to think about before you choose a practice. Good luck! Their phone number is ###-###-####

I go to Northern Virginia OB/GYN. Drs Dobrzynski, Maddox, Silas, and Berry are awesome (there is a new one there but I haven't seen her yet). We interviewed over 20 different practices after our daughter died and Northern Virginia OB/GYN was hands down the best. They delivered one healthy child for us and I'm expecting again--I totally trust them.

FYI-Our previous OB (that handled a previous miscarriage and my daughter's pregnancy and her demise at 40 weeks) was at Greenbriar OB/GYN and I would NOT recommend them at all.
