Hello all!

I'm new to the area fresh from California and I'm looking for a Moms' Day Out program nearby for my 7 and 3 year old. I'm also interested in a really good preschool program - Any suggestions?
I found Time Out for Parents but it's a bit far from this area.
Thank you for your help!
K.

So What Happened?

Thank you for the responses. I'm looking into University Mom's. I also found a day care in Concord that has a Mom's Morning Out program. It's called McGill Child Development Center ###-###-####. They don't have any available slots right now but they may later this year.

Thanks again!

Hi K. and welcome to the Carolinas!!! I'm in Huntersville myself, so I can't help with your question exactly. When I moved here 7 years ago, I found a great group called University Area Moms. They set me up with a playgroup of like aged children and helped introduce me to my first real friends in the area. I quite the chapter several years ago and joined something here in Huntersville. I just checked on- line and found they still look active.

(UNIVERSITY MOMS)An active organization for mothers, fathers, and children ages 0-5 years with activities almost every day of the week. These include play groups, park days, excursions, mom's and dad's only activities, mom's weekends away, and lots of other stuff. They concentrate on having fun. For more info, call a group member at 704/921-0032 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hope this helps!!

A lot of churches have mother's morning out programs / part day preschools for kids age 1 to 4. Also Parents Day Out is located off Harris Blvd and North Tryon.

Hi K.,

My 3-year-old attends the Mother's Morning Out at Grace Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg (right by Concord) and loves it! I actually went there when I was her age and it's the only place I would feel comfortable with, having had bad experiences with others. They're super friendly and the kids actually learn AND play. The number there is ###-###-####; the "director" is "Ms. Pat," a very friendly older woman who likes to get to know everyone on a personal basis and makes sure you get what you want out of the program.

I am not sure where you are located but there is a Mom's Day Out kind of thing (never been to it) in the shopping strip mall on Tryon and Harris (in the University area, across from the hospital. There is a Walgreens there and all kinds of things in the strip mall. I know it is above the IHOP in that mall. Hope that helps.

I just signed up for this club. I filled out the online form and get a message stating that I would be contacted by e-mail within 48 hours. It looks like they have to "approve" you, I'll use that term loosely. It looks legit. But as I find out more info about it I'll keep you up to date.
I'm in the same boat as you. I moved here recently from Richmond, VA. I have a 2 yr old boy. I live in a huge neighborhood, but the section that I live in doesn't have a lot of same age kids. I'd really like to connect with moms in the area with children about the same age so we can form play dates and other social events. I'm also thinking about forming a group here in the neighborhood too.
