I used the New Lifestyle Liquid diet with some pretty serious success. It's cheaper than medifast and tastes loads better (I'm not crazy about soy).

I don't know much about Medifast, but I do know about attain bars, shakes and Access bars and shakes! They are amazing. They taste wonderful and you get amazing results. The Attain bars and shakes have a panted formula that works to make you feel full and block the crave hormone in the brain. The Access bars and shakes have a panted formula to burn more fat and gives you more energy while you are exercising! And the best thing is they taste like treats! I look forward to hearing from you. I have some files on these products if you would like me to send them to you just let me know!

Hey J.,I used Medifast awhile back and this is my opinion: Medifast is good for times when you can handle skipping a meal like at breakfast{if you are not a breakfast person} This is to be taken for a meal subsitute. It contains all the calories you need for a meal {and vitamins}If you are a ravenous eater then don't even get this started because you'll end up gaining weight.I have been on every diet there is including having my jaws wired shut! The best diet I have found is a lean meat and veggie diet which is actually a chemical diet-which I spent $300 for going to LA Weight Loss and I lost quite a bit of weight on it.I put my daughter on it and she was doing real good on it and lost about 25-30lbs on it.Also one of my male friends did it and lost a ton of inches and about 25-30 lbs.The thing is its hard to stay on a diet longer than a month but if you are interested I can help you with that food plan. Now is the time to go on this "food plan" because the veggies are so good and fresh.you can't have any canned veggies becos of the salt. I try to just stay as close to this food plan as a way of eating and I have lost 60lbs within the last year-I still need to lose alot more but I realize it just does'nt fall off it takes time. Some of it will fall off usally 20-30lbs depending how much time you have and how much you need to lose. If you want you can PM me {sorry if I rambled on too much but this is one thing I get into!! S. B

My mom did the liquid diet several years ago she lost a ton of weight. She went from a size 18 to a size 0 in about 6 months. However, when she went off the diet, she gained it all back. But it does work quickly. Good Luck.

I tried it and thought it was just AWFUL! My husband and I are preparing for our respective 20th high school reunions and I wanted to lose my pregnancy fat plus... There was no seasoning in their food and it was just too bland for me. The best thing were the shakes and the bars if you absolutely want to do it, but the soups, oatmeal (gruel), and eggs were absolutely horrible. I would try the 6-week makeover as you are able to eat regular food but you eat it in the proper order that maximizes your metabolism. I did this and have been very successful.

Good luck.

Hi J.,

I've heard mixed reviews on Medifast. I recommend checking out www.VitalHealth.TBlast.com

Take a look at the fast acting oral adaptogen sprays called Tunguska Mist. Adaptogens are a category of herbs that help the body deal with stress, restore balance, and support normal metabolic processes. Often times stress causes us to overeat as well as produce excess cortisol (causes the body to store fat). The rapid release delivery system of the adaptogens in T-Mist Pure and T-Mist Slim will help bring your body into balance, reduce stress at the cellular level, and suppress your appetite to quash cravings. They are convenient to carry with you and take whenever you feel stress coming on, or need the extra willpower to support your weight loss program.

Are you also weight training? Lean muscle mass will speed up your metabolism, thus burning more calories. Avoid fast food, processed foods, and especially all types of soft drinks, if you are not already. Eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day, while drinking plenty of water helps keep your engine burning!

2 great books that I recommend are: Living Lean, by Larry North and Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief by Winston and Maimes.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or need further advice/encouragement. I've studied health, wellness, and Kinesiology for over 15 years and have a passion for helping people change their life.

Believe in yourself and focus on your goals! You can do it!!!

Best regards,
N.

I used medical watch Medifast and had the Dr. ck my blood ever so many times for six to eight weeks. I lost some 40 lbs...I did it for all the wrong reasons. I wanted someone just to admire with words like my how you look trim but I had such few friends they never said those kind words...I would try less amount at meal time cutting the quantity you eat in half and keep a good walk schedule or home exercise video Leslie Sansone has a good one...park further away when you go to any business and get in more walk times or go to the park trails.
Later on within a two year period I gained back weight back because I thought I was infallably in a better shape and found denial that I was eating into the same habits again.
I also had a friend prior to me use the diet she gained hers all back too. There was just no teachings as to the maintenance eating afterwords. Long story short I had to have gall bladder surgery within seven years of all this up and down gaining. Further down the road I got thyroid trouble. So I am into thumbs down on Medifast. Right now am doing the cut portions again.
I would say no to Medifast!
Love in Christ,
Mrs. B

Yes, I used it and it was great. It does work, but like all diets you have to stick to it. What I appreciated was that it was safe and you got fast results. I felt great while on the diet. If you can afford it, go for it. Another great diet that I recommend as well but does not have the expense is Herbalife. Call me if you want more information ###-###-####

I've used Medifast, I lost 50 pounds in 5 months. I did the Medifast program under Dr's supervision with lab tests done weekly. I kept the weight off for only 2 years.

My advise would be to save your money. Do Weight Watchers or any other realistic eating program where you are learning to eat healthy foods and exercise 3 to 4 times a week. You need something that you will be able to continue FOREVER.

Learning to eat healthy and exercise will help not only you, but your son and the other members of your family to get healthy and stay healthy. Love yourself for who you are, not what you look like. Take care of yourself now and every day to come; you want to be healthy and feel good to watch your son grow up, you want to be able to participate in his life and see his children some day.

I'm 54, the wife of one man for over 37 years, the mom to two adults and the grandmother to eight.

I have never used medifast before, but I started using Isagenix at the end of June and have dropped 20 pounds and 45 inches doing 2 9 day cleanses. And the time that I am off of the product I haven't put anything back on. And you do eat regular food and substitute 2 meals with shakes and I have been able to come up with a way that make them really good. Feel free to email me if you need more info.

I have never tried Medifast, but I have used a shake called Attain and a bar called Access. They actually taste good, which is amazing to me because most stuff is yucky!

The Access bar burns fat, so you are suppose to eat it before working out (or cleaning the house!).

I hope you find what you are looking for! I am going on my first vacation with my husband at the end of the month (we have been together 10 years!) and I want to look good in a bathing suit as well. Good luck, I hope we make it!

My husband was so successful with Medifast that I recently decided to join him. He's lost about 30 pounds and I've lost 10, and I've lost about 5 inches. I don't have a problem with the food, I like most of it. Our doctor actually has a Medifast group that meets once a month, similar to a Weight Watchers support group, and we discuss the diets, tricks on making the food better, etc. The diet brochure will recommend cutting your current exercise routine in half for the first three weeks, and I would agree that this is important. You just don't have the energy in the beginning to do a full workout, but you can gradually build up to it. I think the diet is great, but I am doing it while being monitored by a doctor. Good luck!

I didn't use Medifast, I used Health Management Resources (used to be Harris Fast). It's great. I lost 90 lbs in almost 10 months. Once you go into their maintenance program though, that's when I suggest you switch to a place like weight watchers. HMR continues to push their products (along with fruits and veggies) into maintenance............and I think that's not as realistic as it needs to be. However, the weight loss program is GREAT. They also have an at home program..............you can find them online, and their main offices are downtown FW.

My mom used it for about 8 months and ended up with stones that had to be surgically removed. I suggest that you steer clear of it. Buying a bigger suit is much easier and better than surgery.
