Mothers of The Woodlands is a great group of ladies for moms here in The Woodlands and surrounding areas.

www.mothersofthewoodlands.com

We are in the middle of updating our site.

Anyway, we meet weekly doing various things together. Today, we are meeting at a pool and each week we meet at a different one, most of us sitting around the baby pool side while our little ones play. We also have playgroups, separated by the age of the child.

I just read my response and realized that I left alot out. We also have Mom's Night Out, a cookie exchange, SAM ("Support another Mom" where we help out with dinners if someone has a new baby, etc.) and other events, as well. Also, we support each other in various ways online through the message board.

The cost is only $10 per year to join.

Feel free to write me if you have any questions.

Hi D.!
I live just north of you also in Conroe and have been wondering and looking for the same thing. So far have not yet found it. We could always start our own and set up weekly meetings for coffee or lunch.
I am 30, with a 5 year old daughter and a 2 1/2 year old son. I am a SAHM, who also works from home.
If you are interested please email me and we can work on trying to set up something and then include others who are interested as well!

Have you heard of the group called MOPS ("Mothers of Preschoolers")? They get together twice a month (usually offer a daytime and evening gathering), eat, chat, either listen to a speaker or do a craft, etc. They also provide childcare for the little one on the way. You can go to www.MOPS.org to find a location close to you.

Good Luck!

Hi D.! I belong to a group here in Cypress called MOMS Club International, which has many chapters all over the US, so I'm certain they would have one in the Woodlands. That's how I met most all of my "mommy friends" when I first began staying at home with my daughter. Here is their website, http://www.momsclub.org, so you can find out who to contact in your area. Good luck and welcome!

Hi D.
A great Mother's Group is Mothers of The Woodlands. They have play groups, book club, Mother's night out, etc. and I have met a lot of wonderful people (and kids) through them. They have recently created message boards and there is so much information there, it is wonderful. Check them out at www.mothersofthewoodlands.com.

Hello D.,

I can relate to being new to the area. I live in Conroe, just about 15 min north of you. I have 2 boys, ages 3 and 5. I am a work at home mom and love to meet new people.

I belong to a mom's meet up group and also have a Bunko group that meets monthly at my house. I can give you details on how to find them and join. It's lots of fun!

I'd love to meet you. Feel free to call me at home ###-###-#### so that we can get to know each other a little bit.

Best of luck to you!

Good morning,

I too live in the Woodlands and I belong to the Mom's Fellowship group at the Woodlands United Methodist Church. We are doing something almost weekly with nursery usually provided. We are having a playgroup next Monday, 9:30 am at the church. It is a Construction theme play group for the kids. It is just an incredible group of women with kids of all ages. There is also a Mom's in Action group, for Moms with older kids, more focused on school age kids. Next week, we are all playing together though so it might be a good time to come by and check things out. Give me a call if you want to and I can plan on meeting you there or just visiting about other things in the Woodlands that I know about. This place is full of stuff to do with kids. I will be in and out today just leave a message and I will get back to you asap.

I too am new to Houston (less than 1 year) and would love to join if/when you find some groups that get together. I am 38 with an 8 year old daughter (from a previous marriage) and a 5 month old daughter with my current husband. We've recently moved here from Kentucky and am ready to get back into the swing of things. I live in Tomball (close to 249 and Spring Cypress). So let me know if you get any responses and what you find. I attempted this and got only one response, but then I had my baby and things were crazy with visitors all the time so now the dust has settled and I'm ready to make some new friends. Let me know! It would be fun meeting you! Berndette
