Hi, we live in South Orlando and would like to deliver our baby at Celebration Hospital. I'm having a challenge in finding midwives who will deliver our baby at the hospital. At the moment, I have an orientation for The Birth Place with the midwife, Jenny Joseph. Any information/recommendations you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm growing really concerned as time passes by. Thank you!

What can I do next?

I delivered my daughter at celebration hospital 3 years ago and it was great, I thought that everyone there was very nice. I went to mid florida womens center there is one doctor (Dr. Patel) and a mid wife (Terri Watkins) in the office Terri delivered my daughter and everything went very smooth!

I used to work at Celebration Health Hospital and I do not believe that midwives have hospital privileges to deliver at any Florida Hospital Facility. You may want to call the medical staff office at Florida Hospital for clarification.

I have not had any personal experience with Jenny Joseph (yet), but I do know that many of my chiropractors patients that are pregnant end up going to her and I have heard nothing but good things about her. I hope to attend an orientation soon myself.

I am not writing to you regarding midwives, although I went to a group that has 2 midwives and 3 doctors, and they deliver at Celebration. Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates. Their phone number is ###-###-####. I did want to tell you that I delivered my baby at Celebration Hospital in April of 2007 and it was horrible! They have a beautiful hospital, but the nurses there were awful and the rooms were awful. They would take my baby out of the room for some test or another and not check his arm band or my arm band when leaving or returning to be sure they had the right baby like they were supposed to. That was just one of the many many things that concerned me. They were rude and their safety precautions did not measure up to my standards. They then messed up my hospital bill and tried to say that my newborn was not covered on our insurance which took almost a month to finally straighten out. The staff in the business office was also very rude when I was trying to figure out the problem with the bill. Unless you are married to the idea of delivering at Celebration I would suggest that you try to deliver at Winnie Palmer in Orlando. Good luck!
