Seeking Massage Therapist in Lakewood or Downtown Area

This is for a young violinist (age 15) with shoulder and neck pain. She has been treated with massage in another city and found it helpful. Any suggestions? I am looking for therapy, not new age feel-good spa type stuff.

What can I do next?

Arturo Mendez is the best. His training is initially as a registered nurse, but now practices massage therapy. I am a chiropractor and I refer my patients to him and I personally use him. He will even come to your home for the massage. His contact information is ###-###-#### or email at ____@____.com specializes in deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy. I hope this helps!

There is a very good massage therapist, as well as a rolfer, who office out of Dallas Yoga Center at Lemmon and the Tollway across from Whole Foods. I have used them both for therapeutic reasons (injuries, work-related pain) and they are both top notch in their field.

M.-
In 2003, I began having severe shoulder/neck pain from cradling a telephone against my ear several hours a day (the very same position a violinst is in). I tried Chiropractic for 10 months, 4-5 days a week. It helped some, but it wasn't until I began seeing Heather Hess for NMT massage (neuromuscular therapy) that I saw a HUGE and lasting improvement. She is the best I have ever been to. So many therapists just do Swedish fpr relaxation, but Heather's is more of a Medical/trigger point massage that corrects the underlying problems. I cannot stress how wonderful she is! She lives in Lakewood, and her number is ###-###-####.

If you end up calling her, please tell her I said hello and wish her family well!

Good luck!

For shoulder and neck pain, I highly recommend Dr. Samadzada at Lakewood Chiropractic Clinic. I know you're not asking for a chiropractor, but I got much better and longer-lasting pain relief from chiropractic than I did from massage therapy.

I hope the violinist feels better soon!

Hi M. - call Sandy Kuebler - ###-###-####. She is in my networking group and lives right off Garland Road near the Arboretum. She's excellent - does great deep tissue to get out the pain and the aches (if that's what you need). Please tell her that N. from her BNI group referred you - and good luck!
