Does anyone know a good marriage counselor to recommend in Marietta/North Atlanta? My husband was "virtually cheating" and we would both like to attend sessions.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for your kind suggestions and thoughts. We are now seeing Dr Hume -- my husband seems to actually listen to him and my session went fairly well yesterday. The toughest part is going to be getting past the loss of trust. I'm having a really hard time with that, and my husband's pressure to "move on," though an extension of his lack of comfort, is no comfort to me. Anyway, wish us well as we battle to save our love!

I have family in the field, as well as many, many of us going to counseling, with differing results. The absolute best philosophy is practiced by Dr. David Woodsfellow. It is a bigger up front cost and well worth it. Instead of talk therapy exploring for years what the root of the problem is, he gets to the behaviors dictating the problems and works backwards. You can find him online. J.

My husband recently "emotionally cheated" on me with a co-worker. We are seeing Dr. Carola Hertle-Jones ###-###-####. She has two offices 1 in Woodstock and the other near Lassiter High School. She is not faith based, but is very good. For me a combination of counseling, praying and researching ways for me to cope (online) helps. By no means is it easy. Cheating is cheating...it can start emotionally or virtually and go to a full blown affair. Glad you caught it now. It is not easy. Healing is a process. Good luck and remember it'll take time. Good luck to you and your husband!

J.,

Consider doing a Retrouvaille Weekend together. Also try reading, "Amazing Grace for Married Couples" by Jeff Cavins. Both may give you alot of insight.
I would recommend only faith-based counselors. Try Mary Cheryl Henderson @ ###-###-####.
If not at least ask her for recommendations.
Marriage requires alot of sacrifice. We were made for helping each other get to heaven.
God Bless you in your efforts. You will be stronger for going through this firery trial. Real love is made from "real" sacrifice. Your blessings will be multiplied for your efforts and your children will benefit greatly.
You may also want to look into a website called maritalhealing.com. I also recommend books by Dr. Greg Popciak.
