Seeking Interior Decorator in South Bay Area

Hi - I'm looking for an interior decorator to help me spruce up my home. For once
in my life, I'd like to feel that my house was “done”. My need is mostly for accessorizing, properly displaying / arranging what we already have, and to keep within a reasonably unified theme. I could also use some help on some pieces of furniture.

Also, what is the conventional compensation for a decorator? What is a reasonable hourly rate or mark-up on a project?

Thanks in advance for your help!

So What Happened?

Hi - I just wanted to post that through a friend I found a wonderfully talented re-designer who has helped me a lot with my project. Her name is Ginger Runnels and I really recommend her. She has helped me rearrange furniture, settle on a color scheme, and accessorize. She has done all this with keeping my budget in mind. She also stages homes to sell. We will use her help to determine the paint colors for the exterior of our home when we paint it later this year. Her number is ###-###-####.

Thanks for all your responses and I will keep them in mind if a future need arises.

I'm a decorator and sahm. I've taken a long hiatus to take care of my 26 month old. I've done a couple of small jobs for one of my old Clients this past year. I would be interested in working on this type of project. This sounds like a job I can handle. Before I was did residential design I was a Set Decorator and Art Director for the film & television industry which led to my design firm. My hourly rate was $ 85.00 hour plus a 15% mark up four years ago. My rate has changed to a straight hourly rate. My Designer friend charges $ 105.00/HR plus 25% mark up. Please email me at: ____@____.com if you are interested in speaking to me. I can give references and my resume. Good luck!
