I am moving to Wayzata in about a month and would like to sign up my 4-year old son for preschool. It has been very difficult to get a list of what is available, or recommended. Is there anyone who can help me? Thanks!

What can I do next?

St. Bart's in Wayzata has a great pre-school program, I think they just started an all day option as well.

My daughter went to Wayzata Community Church Preschool- we had a great experience. It might be too late though as there is usually a waiting list. I feel for you! I was in the same position a couple years ago. At least you have this source now! Goodluck!

There's also Step By Step Montessori in Wayzata.. Not sure if you know much about Montessori but I love the approach. It's very child-directed, as well as academic. A really comprehensive program. Good luck!

I would say Step by Step Montessori. They have 8 different schools around the metro area and they are great schools. I worked at the one in Chaska for 4 years and my son learned so much from there. We left when I had my 2nd child so that I could stay home with them. They are a wonderful place for children to go all the teacher have been their for many years and they dont change very often at all. Good luck in your search for a preschool.

I would say if you can get in - Wayzata Community Church Nursery School! Both of my girls went there, and we had such great teachers, a fun and enriching curriculum and an overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend it!

My son is starting at the Peppermint Fence preschool (in Plymouth but Wayzata school District)its actually in a REAL school (middle school) so it feels like school, rather than a glorified daycare center ..... he is 3 so it will be his first year, but I like what I saw at our visit.

Be sure to look into St. David's Child Development and Family Services on Plymouth Road in Minnetonka (just down from Ridgedale). It's FABULOUS! They are both an excellent preschool and a facility for family services and special needs.

Calvary Pre-K in Golden Valley is the BEST. Its been around for generataions and is located in Calvary Lutheran Church. It has wonderful teachers and a great facility. I know you said you wanted something in the Wayzata area, but this is just a few minutes away. Many of the families drive from Maple Grove because they feel it is worth it. Check it out! ###-###-####
