I am looking for a high risk obgyn in NYC. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone used Joanne Stone at Mount Sinai? Or know of anyone else?

Hi, I had my twins at mt sinai- my dr was dr gila leiter she was amazing but she is not high risk however she had twins herself and she has delivered many multiples but i went into preterm labor at my 28th week and dr stone was a consultant on my case. she was very nice and my dr generally agreed with her opinion except on one matter (she wanted to send me home on meds and bed rest while my dr wanted to keep me in the hospital which i did) my roommate in the hospital used dr stone and she was very happy with her. her issues where different then mine one of her babies did not have enough amniotic fluid so they did not think the lungs would develop and then she was leaking fluid and blood. she ended up delivering her babies at 27 weeks i think and after some time in the nicu thank G-d they both went home and they are completely healthy now. for my 2nd pregnancy (singleton) i had preterm labor again and i used columbia dr perez delboy and she was great really available to talk and cautious. she was very good. i saw someone recommended dr shin- he ended up delivering my baby- he is not high risk but he is nice but laid back... good luck

Hi Li,
Suzanne Pastore has been my OB for over 6 years. She specializes in working with women over 35 and high-risk pregnancies. I can also vouch for the rest of teh women who work for her and say they make a highly qualified team. Dr. Pastore works out of a clinic on the Upper East side and is affiliated with Beth Israel and NYU, I believe.
Hope this helps!

Try Dr. Daniel Roshan from NYU Medical. I had high blood pressure during my second pregnancy so I was referred to him. Very thorough and also had a great staff. They don't just shuffle you around. Here's his website: http://www.roshmfm.com/

Good luck!

I have seen dr. Thomas D. Shin at the Columbia University Medical Center - Eastside. I liked Dr. Shin for the few times I have seen him. He was very knowledgeable and calm. However, I decided to go with other doctor for the delivery of my twins due to the distance. (I live in Brooklyn and he delivers only at the Columbia Presbyterian up on the 160th street.) Here's his info:

phone: ###-###-####
Address: 16 E. 60th St. Suite 480 (5th/Madison)
New York , NY 10022

I don't know how "high risk" you are talking about. My ob/gyn, who delivered my twins, is a very warm and caring doctor and she herself has twins too. Here's her info:

Dr. Bernadith Russell
phone: ###-###-####
address: 30 West Broadway, 2nd fl. (Prince/Spring)
New York , NY 10012

Good luck!

Hi there. I have a great recommendation. Dr. Manuel Alvarez is an excellent maternal/fetal medicine physician. He was my physician for my first child and I am currently his patient for my second child due in November. His staff is excellent and he is very professional. He practices in NJ and NY. I see him in NJ. He has hospital privileges at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NY. If you would like additional information, please let me know.

Good luck! I highly recommend him to everyone. He is also one of the medical consultants for FOX 5 News in NY.

DO NOT go to Dr. Joanne Stone at Mt. Sinai. She doesn't listen, she lies and she takes unnecessary risks with precious pregnancies. I'd have another perfectly healthy baby if not for her. DO NOT go to Dr. Joanne Stone at Mt. Sinai.

My doc was Dr. I. Zervoudakas at NY Presby Weill Cornell. I believe he is high risk but I'm not totally positive however I know he is wonderful with multiples (delivered my twins just 2 weeks ago and a friends high risk twins about 8 years ago). But if he isn't "high risk" another doc in the same office that only takes you if you are high risk Dr. Robin Kalish. I never met her but have a friend that went to her and said she was great.
Good luck!!
