Seeking Gp for Myself and New Pediatrician for My Kids in the Tustin Area

Hi mamas!
I'm not new to OC but I am looking for a new pediatrician for my kids as well as a gp for myself. I am open to separate doctors or a great family practice and it doesn't matter whether the docs are male or female. We live in Tustin off of Irvine Blvd. and Red Hill. Proximity is important for me as I run a daycare and try hard not to upset everyone's schedule. I'd love an office where we don't have to wait in the waiting room for an hour just to be rushed through a 5 minute appt. (maybe I'm crazy to think that it exists?).

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

What can I do next?

You'll be happy to know there are great pediatricians right by you! We go to Dr. Dawn Bruner ###-###-####. Her office is called Pediatric & Adult Medicine (I don't have any experience w/ the adult side) & address is 13132 Newport Ave, ste 100, Tustin... near Ruby's. I'm sure you've driven right by it! My son was in CHOC's NICU after he was born and the doctors there recommended this office. I've been to several of the docs and they have all been great. 2 of my friends swear by Dr. Valeria Kozak, who used to be in the practice, but is on her own now. I don't have her # handy, but would be happy to get it for you.
Good luck!
M.

I also recommend Pediatric & Adult Medicine (www.pam4kids.com). We actually just signed up with the practice after attending an open house and got a really great feeling from everyone there. I chose Dr. Mackey but also really liked some of the other docs. I think they do an open house once a month if you want to check it out.

It is not actually a practice for adults. They treat people up to age 23, so technically not kids anymore (18 and under), but not a practice that you could go to also.

Sorry, I am new to the area and actually in search of a GP for myself as well. Let me know if you find a good one.

I have the Dr. you are looking for but he may be a little bit too far. He is in Brea. I go from Chino HIlls to take my kids to him. He is wonderful. He doesn't book appointments far in advance (which I first worried me) but it is so that he doesn't fill up and is really flexible. If I call the office because my kids are sick he can usually see me in an hour (or a later time if it is more convenient). When I thought my daughter was hurt he held his lunch so I could bring her in. He is very friendly and lets you ask him any questions and will take his time. We asked him about taking our first on a 5 hour airplane trip when she was 20months. He gave us advice as a dr. and as a parent. His name is Dr. Huang and is off of central. If your interested let me know and I can give you his number.

Hi B.. Our family is seen at St. Joseph's Heritage Medical group on Irvine (down the street from you), cross street Elizabeth, a block away from Newport. My son has seen by Dr. Genser for the past year now and we are happy with him. He is straight forward and will fully explain things to you; he will take the time to answer all your questions and address your concerns. His assistant, Monique is also very nice. I think I had to wait about 30 minutes at the most one time only, to be seen. There is a nother Ped there by the name of Dr. Morley and he seems nice. We saw him once as Dr. Genser was off. As far as a GP for yourself, I can't recommend one from there just yet. I had a great doctor there but she left a year ago. A new doctor came in to take over her patients but that doctor left this year and a new one is takin over, again, this month. I have yet to meet her. They have several other doctors there so if I am not satisfied with her then I will be looking to change doctors. That medical group has an urgent care on 4th street off the 55 fwy (Irvine turns into 4th). Been to urgent care 2x on the weekend for my son. Hubby was impressed how clean and how we were not there all day; i beleive 3-4 hours. Good luck

I'm not sure what insurance you have....but I love love love my kids pediatrician. We go to St. Joseph's Heritage Medical....it used to be located off La Veta in Orange across from CHOC but now they are in Santa Ana off Tustin Avenue and Fourth Street just behind where that Shell station is on the corner there at Tustin and 4th. We use Dr. Connie Bartlett...she's wonderful. They also have family GPs there too. Hope you find what you're looking for.
Oh their office number is ###-###-####
