Hi Moms,

After 5 straight weeks of potty training, my 3 yr old daughter is finally fully trained. But, she is too scared to go on the public toliets, "too big", she says.
I've looked at a bunch of foldable travel seats, but alot got really bad reviews, collapsing, pinching, doesn't fit, etc.
Can anyone recommend a really good one that works?

What can I do next?

I have twin boys and we bought the travel potty seat from One Step Ahead. It's the best thing I ever bought! The item # is 11776 and it's $24.95.
It's compact and folds up to almost look like a brief case so you can take it with you. We took it to the zoo and the park. It also uses disposable 1 gallon zip lock bags which is nice for easy clean up. We love this thing and always keep it in the van in case of emergencies!

We love our Baby Bjorn toilet trainer. Haven't found a seat that it doesnt fit on yet. And she is very comfortable on it, even prefers it to the "baby seat" that is on the floor.

We always just took the plastic potty chair that we bought for the bathroom with us. TOok the little potty cup out and dumped it on the side of the road..since everything is bio-degradeable. Talking about like on the interstate.

Worked for us through two children thus far and we travel as much as 16 hours a shot.

We have the foldable Sesame Street one and so far it hasn't caused any problems. If you're willing to tote something as bulky as the Baby Bjorn one, we also have one by The First Years. We got it at Target and it was only about $10. It has handles to hold onto, which my son likes for pooping.

Or, if you're willing to carry something as big as the One Step Ahead portable potty, we just got a simple potty chair from IKEA for about $4. We keep it in the trunk for emergencies on the road and rinse it with a bottle of water that we keep with it. It fits in a plastic shopping bag and we've even carried it into Mc Donald's.

Good luck!

We loved the Baby Bjorn one, it's one piece (no pinching), easy to clean, and easily fits into a Target bag in the diaper bag. It's grippy on the bottom so it doesn't slip and slide, and generally fits all toilet seats!

Good luck,
M.

My daughter said the exact same thing ( "too big!") I ended up just taking the regular potty seat from home with us. The kind that has a padded top with handles. I keep it in a plastic bag in my bag. It works just fine.

I don't think they are considered "travel" seats, but I just got the insert from Target and carried it with me in a plastic bag. You just put it on the toilet the way it was.

I did clean it everytime I brought it home and it wasn't anything that folded up. I took it with me when we drove on trips. You know those rest stop bathrooms. Yuck!
