Seeking Good Reliable Daycare

Does anyone know of a daycare in Denton that offers part-time care? I am looking to go back to work but Grandma wants to keep my son two days a week. Also, I just don't know which daycares are really good and which ones I should stay away from.

What can I do next?

As a mom when mine were little ..I used a personel home care..where she only had her own and my two...It was home away from home...Family? Church friends? Neighbors? No strangers honey...Only people you know...

I'm not sure what other moms think, but upon touring centers, I just got a bad feeling about Children's Lighthouse in Denton, so we moved on to look at other places pretty quickly. Turns out my neighbor used them and had a bad experience with them, so she was glad I didn't go there!

I've heard good things about the Primrose School in Hickory Creek (by Walmart). And I just enrolled my 2 and 4 yr old at Treehouse Academy in Corinth. While I won't begin using Treehouse full time for a few more weeks, our initial impression has been good. I even checked out the infant rooms (in case, God forbid, we have a 3rd!), and liked what I saw.
We checked out Primrose too, (we know at least two families who use them) but they don't offer an after school bus for the elementary school where my daughter will attend in the fall.

Also, I'm not sure what hours they run, or if they take infants, but First Baptist Denton, and the Presbyterian church downtown have childcare facilities.

One of my best visits when I was on the daycare hunt was at Springbok Academy on Fulton. However, it's a small center with a pretty long waiting list. I don't know how anyone ever gets in there :-).

Also, just to prepare you, 3-day childcare costs almost as much as full time. So, while it seems like it would be a price break, it's not.

I am also looking at child care options in Denton for my 6 month old. I will say that in my search, I have found that most places will only take infants full time. It seems backwards but I'm sure they have their reasons. It might be quite hard to find part-time care for such a young child.

I'm going to check out Treehouse Academy and Exclusively Babies tomorrow and can let you know how they are!

Have you checked out this website?? It gives a list of providers in the Denton area. I really think you should look into private home daycare. I can't say how I feel about one particular center on here becuase I fear I'll get in trouble.
