Seeking Good Place for 1St Hair Cut

My soon to be 1-year old is in need of his first hair cut. Does anyone know of a good place to do this? I would like a place where I could get some good pictures, a place where the first hair cut could be special, instead of just the normal place I go. I live in Mt. Clemens and would like to be able to travel 1/2 hour or less to get to this place. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks, God Bless, and Merry Christmas!

So What Happened?

Well, we ended up getting the first haircut when visiting the in-laws near Lexington, KY. We went to a cute place there called Cookie Cutters. I think it is a lot like Carnival Cuts that everyone reccommended. He sat in a fire truck and watched Elmo. They had a LARGE slide which he went down with Granny, and they gave him a balloon with a cookie cutter as the weight. It was great. Thank you to everyone for the advice. We will keep it in mind for next time.

Hello A.,

Try Carnival Cuts at Lakeside Mall. Gloria does my 3 year old's hair (since he was one). My son squirms, fusses, etc, and she does a great job. All the staff is nice, and they cater to children, videos, suckers, colorful for pictures, etc.

Don't be surprised if your son has a meltdown, mine still doesn't like having his hair cut, lol. Good luck, Merry Christmas!!!

Hi! I'm not sure if they have them around here, but in Toledo, Oh we took my nephew to First Choice Haircutters. They were very good with him and saved all of the hair. He got a certificate that they even taped some hair on. Good luck to you and Merry Christmas!

Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights has this place called Carnival Cuts (I think that's the name at least) and they have kids videos and fun stuff for the kids. I've never personally taken my 2-year old there (she doesn't have enough hair yet to get it cut) but when she gets enough hair, that would be the place that I take her.

Carnival Cuts at Lakeside is a good option. They have horses and stuff for the kids to sit on. They will take a picture and give you a lock of hair. However- they are expensive-- about $17 and my son hated it. He found it scary and cried the whole time. I take my son to a local place now- in Sterling Heights call Marios-- its at Mound and 15 mile. The owner- Kari is great with kids and has a kids section with toys and everyone gets to pick a prize when they are done. My son loves going there now.

Her is the contact information if you chose to go there:

There is a place at Lakeside Mall called Carnival Cuts I believe and they have little space ships or some type of plane that the kids can sit in while getting a hair cut. It is a kid friendly place. You might want to try there. I have had my hair cut there before that is how I know about this place.
