Hi All:We are looking for a good Optometrist who is not part of a "storefront" (i.e. not For Eyes, See, Costco, etc). Would prefer someone downtown, north side or near north suburbs.
thanks

There is a good one. Her name is Silvia Pelini she is at 328 S Michigan. Her number is ###-###-####. She has weekend appointments also with one of a kind frames. She is wonderful. Her staff is a little on the non-customer friendly type, but they will go over your insurance plans and look at other ones you thought you never had. She will also look at what will best for you. Tell her Charon Myrickes sent you.

Someone who i DONT recommend to anyone is Dr Cheryl McEaney at the For Eyes store on Dempster in Morton Grove. She misdiagnosed my contact lense number, is rude, and snobbish. I had problems with my contacts for years before I saw another optometrist (sorry, a Wal-mart one)who was just great.

Hi J.-

My Optometrist is awesome. I have been going to her for over 20 years and recommended many people to her. She is always on top of the newest technology available and participates in different organizations. She is on the board of a group who is trying to emphasize the importance of eye health early in life and participates in offering free eye exams for infants between the ages of 6-12 months.

The office is Professional Eye Care, Dr Pame Lowe. ###-###-####. they are located at Milwaukee and Devon but will be moving to Caldwell and Touhy soon.

Hope you find someone you like.

I like the optomotrists at Village Eye Care. They have two locations - one is on Taylor St near Racine, the other is in the South Loop. Maybe not close enough to your location, but I think they're great.
