I am new to the college Park, MD area and am looking for a good OB that would be reliable and be able to deal with any complications with delivery. I'm also looking for an OB that would deliver at a good Hopsital. i don't know the hospitals in the area, but i've heard that Shady grove has bad nursing care. I've heard Sibley is nice, but may not be able to handle complicated cases.

What can I do next?

I also had my son at Holy Cross, he was okay though, and my niece was born 2 and half months premature with other complications. Holy Cross is a great hospital! Great nursing staff too! I went to Capital Women's Care in Silver Spring when I had my son, but have now switched to a great doctor right in college park! His name is Dr. Mody and the number there is ###-###-####. His wife works in the office with him and he gives everything a shot! My sitter is the one who referred me to him and she has 7 kids! Hope this helps

We had midwives and birthed at home - BirthCare in Alexandria.

But that isn't for everyone. Sibley is awesome. I have been treated there for unrelated stuff but my friend birthed there and said they were great! Congrats to you and good luck!

Hi!! I am also a patient at Capital Women's Care. I have been a patient since I was 16 or 17 and I am now 27!!! I was referred by my godmother and have referred both of my best friends there. Dr Maggid is wonderful, he delivered my first child. I actually saw him thru my first pregnancy and most of my second. Dr Newhouse delivered my second by c- section, and even though I was dead set aganist it, she made me understand that this was the ONLY way my son was coming out. I usually see either her or Dr. Maggid for my annual checkups. They are both excellent. They are affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital. Holy Cross has a great neonatal and birthing unit. Capital Women's Care has two offices that I know of, one in Silver Spring and one in Rockville. Best of luck to you!! I also live in College Park, feel free to send me a message anytime!!!!

Hi! My son was born at Holy Cross Hospital, and he was three and half months premature. I can tell you from experience that the nurses there are amazing and the care was superb. If it hadn't been for them, my son may not have made it...so if you're looking for a hospital that can handle the unexpected or difficult, Holy Cross would be a good choice. As for an OB that delivers there, I can't help you because my OB was through Kaiser Permanente. He's the best, but I don't know what insurance you have. Hope that helps!

I really like my OB. Dr Maggid at Capital Womens Care in Silver Spring off of Colesville ###-###-####. Also I delivered at Holy Cross and I was very happy with them. After 26 hrs of labor I had to have a c-section so they did great with me. Hope that helps. Good lucK:)
