Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for a good GYN in St. Mary's County MD. I'm in the California/Great Mills area. I really don't want to drive far, but if I have to I will. If you have any recommendations or anyone I should stay clear of please let me know. Thank you!!

Dr. Tilley delivered my 2nd daughter, who is now 7. I LOVE him! He is very straight-forward in his assessments and really takes the time to listen to my questions and explain any options. He has a very pleasant demeanor, and his office staff is friendly and inviting.

Hi.
Just one year ago I began the quest for an obgyn down here. I live in Lex. Pk. After hearing recomendation after recomendation, Dr. Tilley's name came up 90% of the time. So that is who I went with! His midwife Carol is AWESOME!!! Dr. Tilley is great too. When I saw him in the office he was very by the books. Carol's bedside manner is so caring and we always ended up chatting about something or another. When it came time to deliver my daughter Dr. Tilley was awesome. It was such a great experience! We joked (especially when my leg flopped over, thanks to the epidural, and my knee popped the good doc in the head!) and chatted as we waited for my baby's entrance into the world. He's the best. And St. Mary's hospital was great too! I felt like I was their patient! Dr. Tilley's practice is in Leonardtown right by the hospital.

Hi S.,

I would highly recommend Dr. Lawrence Tilley. He is located in Leonardtown on Moakley Street right beside the hospital. I have 2 children ages 7 1/2 and 2 years. He is wonderful! I used to see Dr. Neal but had some bad experiences with her with my 1st pregnancy and a miscarriage so I changed doctors.

Hope this might help in your search.

I go to Dr. Tilley and he is AMAZING. He is not very talky, so to speak - but I'd rather him just say there are no problems if there aren't any and let me go. He is very helpful with questions and explains everything succinctly. He was great in the delivery room with my son as well - very encouraging and told me everything that was going on.

Hi S.,
I understand how you feel I'm new to Calvert County and finding a good doctor is hard. Well I went to see Dr Reza Naini in Prince Frederick beside the hospital ###-###-#### and so far him and his team were great. What I love was that he meets with new patients in his office (room) before he does the exam. He goes over any questions that you might have and explains what he's going to do. I've never had a Dr do that before which he made me feel at ease. Also most office rooms are small the one I was in was huge. Good luck, I hope this will help.

Hello S.,
My choice, by far, would be the office of Southern Md Women's Health Care. There are 2 OB/GYNs and 2 nurse practioner. Their phone number is ###-###-#### and their office is next to the hospital. Be warned - they are very popular - at least among the people that I know.
Dr. Polko delivered 2 of my 4 boys and she is great!
When I first moved to St. Mary's, I chose a practice that included Dr. Polko. There were 5 doctors - Bowes, Windham, Wills, Polsky and Polko. I think that Dr. Bowes retired and Dr. Wills left the area. Drs. Windham and Polsky are still practicing, I think, but they are no longer OBs - just GYN. They were great, too.
So there you have several names to choose from - Good luck!

I would suggest Dr. Lisa Polko in Leonardtown by the hospital. The staff and her are great. She also has a new dr in her office but have not dealt with. I have dealty with Ann Naru that is in that office. I used her during my two children and very understanding. There is a long wait list sometimes but worth every min. Hope this helps in your selection.
