go to www.artsopolis.com they have all the events, festivals, plays and free events in the bay area.
i love this site!
i have a 5 & 8yr old and i use this as a weekend tool.
it also shows story times at the library.

response to Happy Hollow.
Happy Hollow is open during renovation, i thought it was closed too, but i took my kids this weekend and it was open. they are currently doing the renovation on the outside of the park. so all the animals, rides and play areas are open.

I have always been a fan of Kelley Park in San Jose. There is the Japanese Friendship Garden with a Koi Pond and the zoo is there also. The zoo isn't really big, but it's inexpensive and there is a petting zoo where they can feed the animals pellets. They even have some rides. It is still open on most days even though it is under construction. If you go to their website they have a calendar showing which days they are still open on.

One of our favorite activities is Happy Hollow Park. It is $60 for an annual family membership. We usually go about once a month. They've got a small zoo and a handful of rides for small kids. If you google Happy Hollow it will come up. Parking is a little expensive but they give various discounts (we get the military discount) I've been taking my oldest (almost 4 this summer) since she was about 8 months old and now also take my 15 month old. They love Danny the Dragon. We usually pack our own picnic lunch too so that cuts down on the price. The park runs a $2 Tuesday (I think) on the first Tuesday of the month but it is very crowded on those days. My husband also has taken the kids to the SF Zoo and said it's a really nice one. We like the Monterey aquarium but that's a full day trip (and more money!) Something else we've done is just make a fun place in the backyard- we have lots of bubble toys, a water activity table and we filled an old plastic swimming pool with sand so we now have a sandbox too- the kids LOVE it but usually results in a bath that night! Hope this helps!

K. Park is a nice place to go. The zoo (Happy Hollow) is still open until July, but they are doing some construction already. My 2 1/2 year old really enjoys the park and having a picnic.

Just so you know Happy Hollow is closed for renovation until Fall 2009. Great place to go with children so be sure to go when it reopens.

I would suggest looking into the parks at different cities and choosing a new park to go to that is toddler friendly. A few in Campbell:
Campbell Park
Jack Fischer Park
John D.Morgan Park

Parent's Magazine has lots of good ideas - recommend looking into that. Also, we really like Roaring Camp for a fun day outing. Children's Discovery Museum is a good choice too. Monterey Bay Aquarium and Dennis the Menace Park in Monterey are fun. HAVE FUN!!!
