Hey there moms(: I go to a dentist that is good....but is not amazing with his "bedside manner"....no biggie for me...but HUGE for little ones that have some "major" fears of those dentists and all their crazy drills, and pointy tools(: I would love to find a great dentist that really focuses on little ones....makes them feel comfortable...a fun environment...perks for getting your teeth cleaned...ya know...all that fun stuff(: I read the reviews about Dr. Aimee...and would be willing to drive the distance...just wondered if anyone knew of someone up here closer to North East Grand Rapids? Hi A.. Here is the name of the childrens dentist that I take my son too.. He had some bad experiences with others and is very comfortable here... They even have a "Little Door" that the kids go in :) Parents can't fit :) I would give her a try :) Great office experience :)

We have been going to Dr. Johnathon Eagle on the Beltline in the same strip as Kregel Bookstore.
They take the kids picture and place it on the no cavity wall. A prize box, new toothbrush etc. are given each time. If the child needs a video to play for distraction they do this also. There are massage mats on the chairs. When my kids were very young, I brought them with me to watch Mommy get her teeth cleaned. They did a nice job of letting them ride in the chair and play with the giant toothbrush and teeth.
My son has sensory issues and they have been great with working through his resistance to having his teeth cleaned etc.
Dr Eagle has four children of his own and is good with the kids. The office is very professional, clean and state of the art methods.
Good Luck in your quest! Don't go too far from home as the kids get older and involved in activities it becomes harder to schedule appointments for them.
If you are willing to make the drive out near Rivertown Crossing Mall - Grandville Pediatric Dentisty is on the corner of 44th and Ivanrest and they are amazing. My kids have been going there their whole lives and my son just graduated to no longer being able to go to a pediatric dentist and he can't go there any longer and is bummed. I guarentee they have everything you are looking for.
You need to look up Richard S. Neuman, D.D.S. 3930 Burton S.E. Grand Rapids. Phone number is ###-###-####. Dr. Neuman has been wonderful with our 4 year old son, Owen. Actually, he even had a time where he just let Owen come in (when he was 3?) and just get aquainted with the dentist and the room, equipment, etc. Dr. Neuman talks to the child, not over the child, and he made Owen very comfortable. He gives little gifts to them, like stickers, and trinkety things, and also the normal floss, toothpaste, etc. They also have a silly movie with chimps to demonstrate the correct dental behavior we should all implement. I also have found the ladies at the front office to be very helpful, and polite. He's a little trip for us, but we stick with him, because he's good for Owen, and he has 25 years of experience. If you get the Valuepak, he has an ad there for a $1.00 New Patient Exam, that includes the initial Exam, Consultation, and Necessary X-Rays.

Hello my children have been going to Dr. Payne now for 6 years and they love it. He is located on East Paris off of Cascade Rd. It is very kid friendly. When you walk in it looks like a jungle. All of the hygienists and assistants and awesome and very friendly. My second daughter was a stuck to the hip kind of child and she felt safe enough to walk back with them. Well hope you find one you like. Children really do need their own dentist. ###-###-####
