There will be filing fees/court fees. If you and your soon to be exhusband have already agreed on martial property, custody, child support, and how debts will be split. You could do the forms yourself.

Things to think about: If you purchased a house or any other equitable property, you need to agree on who will maintain ownership of the property and how any equity will be split. Normally the one who will keep the property will refinance in their sole name after the divorce has been finalize.

Missouri is joint custody state with one parent having physical custody. Of course if the other parent is not able to be fit parent, then that needs to be brought up.
MO is pretty standard on thier child support, you can find calculators online to help determine roughly want child

I haven't heard that it can be done for no cost. You can get the forms online and potentially go without an attorney, which would save you money. There are courthouse fees that I do not think you can get away from though.

I did this in court myself with my first husband that I was married to for 12 years. He agreed to me having custody I agreed to him paying lower child support, visitation.However once the divorce was done it all stabbed me in the back. Be careful what you are doing I would recommend an attorney if at all possible or at least contact legal aid. As well I have heard since I did it that here in IL they don't allow you to file on your own if you have children you can call your courthouse they can tell you for sure. If you can they should have all the papers that is who gave me mine.

I really don't think that you should try to do this for free. Especially with children, and custody issues, the lawyer would really be worth the cost. If you have property and other assets that need to be divided, you really need an attorney. This will be money well spent. I don't know how expensive it is, but it will help you avoid problems down the road. Good luck.

I have heard if it can be done uncontested that you might be able to do it cheaply, sorry don't know more maybe some of the other ladies here will have more info for you.

My friend got a divorce from her husband using legal aid and she paid nothing. She also had a child and he fought her on everything and she came out on top so I have a high opinion of them.
