I'm not happy with the work (root canal & crown) that I had done by my current dentist. I need to get the procedure done over becuase my front tooth looks like a huge chicklet! It doesn't match any of my other teeth at all. If you know of a dentist that located near a metro (preferably) please pass that information along to me.

I am also looking for a good physician for myself and my son. Similar preferences as the dentists, located on or near a metro line. But if they're really good, I would mind driving. Thanks!!

Hi, I got this recommendation from a co-worker recently:

The place I go is in Tenley Town about a block from the metro. It is okay…the rooms are kind of old but the care is good.

I totally spaced on the name of the dentist…but the phone number is ###-###-####.

Good luck!

N.,
Hello! I see that you live in DC, so I don't know if our family dentist would work out for you (in Alexandria), but we think he's fantastic! His name is Dr. Bryan Wood and he is just a few blocks away from the Huntington Metro stop in Alexandria. Dr. Wood is truly a skilled dentist, he is super GENTLE, and his staff is really nice! We take our kids there (five year old and three year old) there too--and they come home with all kinds of "loot". His phone number is ###-###-####. If you want, you can check out his website: www.gentlegiantdentalcare.com.
We also take our boys to a great group of pediatricians called the Kidz Docs and we see Dr. Jennifer Thompson. This practice is also in Alexandria, although not within walking distance from the Metro (even if you hoofed it, you'd have to cross a pretty busy street then walk down a street without sidewalks). Dr. Thompson is sweet and smart and really listens to the parents. The office can always get you in for an emergency. Kidz Docs number is ###-###-####, and website is www.thekidzdocs.com.
Best of luck!
K.

Pediatric Village in Washington, DC - it's in the Spring Valley section of the District nearby American University.

Georgetown University Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, as well as the Department of Internal Medicine have great providers. The Department of Pediatrics is also located in the same building, but have heard there tends to be a long wait when you arrive for your appointment.

I have been pleased with Dr. Hoyson in Silver Spring. He's not really close to a Metro station, but you could probably get a bus from Glenmont to his building.

I highly recommend the name below: Not only was Dr. Frew was voted one of Washington's Best Dentists, you will find him to be very informative and nice. I live in Fort Washington so he is not around the corner, but let me tell you he's worth it! I too started seeing him when I was not pleased with my dentist. I found him after reading a book by a dentist which spoke of a particular type of preventive dentisty that only a few dentitsts in this are trained in. He is one of them. Good luck.

Not sure about metro.

The bldg is located behind Bullfeathers restaurant. I like Dr. Alexandra Thomson, but Dr. Bouchard and Dr. Hodges are also wonderful!! I have been going there for several years and many people in my office go there as well, and have for years.
Good luck!

I go to Dr. Phan at Old Town Dental in Alexandria. I've been happy with her work, and she has referred me to Dr. Miner for 2 root canals in the last couple of years, both of which were completely painless and both of which were done right the first time. Her office is fairly close to King St Metro on the Yellow Line -- about a 10-15 min walk once you're at the Metro, straight down King St, turn right on South Washington St. Dr Miner's office is a 2-minute walk from King St.

I love both my primary care phys and my dentist. My dentist is in Georgetown so not very convenient to the metro, but the D6 metrobus does stop right across the street. I've been going to him for 11 years and I love him -- it's funny, after my first visit, I felt like I'd been in the dark-ages of dentistry with my old dentist. Dentist = Dr. Fattahi ###-###-#### -- 4434 Maccarthur Blvd.

My primary care physician is downtown and a short walk from either Foggy Bottom, Faragut West or Faragut North. Dr. Pocinki ###-###-####. I've been seeing him for 10 years and I've always received great personal care. He never rushes me out the door -- takes plenty of time to talk to me about how I'm feeling/ what's going on/ etc. He also caught my thyroid disease in it's very early stages (before I had any real symptoms to speak of) at a routine check-up. The only downside is that he no longer takes my insurance BCBS, so I have to file with my insurance company directly which is a headache, but I don't mind b/c I think he's such a great doctor, it's worth it.

Don't know if you are looking, but I'm also a HUGE fan of my OBGYN practice. Foxhall OBGYN ###-###-####. I switched to them when I found out I was pregnant b/c I wasn't thrilled with my old practice. They aren't really near a metro, but the metrobus stops in front of their office.
