I am searching for a great child care facility in Allen. My daughter will be 9 weeks old when we enroll her. We want a great center that gives lots of love. However, creme de la creme and carpep diem are out if our budget. Please make recommendations!

What can I do next?

When my daughter was younger we pulled her OUT of Creme de la Creme in Allen and enrolled her in Childrens Garden Montessori off Hedgecoxe and McDermott. We felt we were paying an exhorbitant amount of money for little to no structure and a very high teacher turnover (6 different teachrooms over 7 months) at Creme de la Creme. After she started at Montessori, we saw such an improvement in her educational skills, behavior and overall social skills. I firmly believe her 2 years at Montessori prepared her for a solid start in kindergarten and gave her a good foundation to begin her elementary years. The owner has years of education administration experience and is a very sweet lady. The staff is wonderful...my daughter had Ms. Ercole (spelling?) but most of the teachers are a bit older, have montessori certification and have been with the school for a good amount of time. We would recommend this school to anyone...good luck!!! :)

I'm not sure if you have stopped by my center or not. I'm at the Children's Courtyard off Watters/ Exchange pkwy. I would love to have a little girl amidst my boys I have! If I haven't seen you yet, please come by. And if I have, did you not like the center?

You could always look and see if there are any home daycares around where you live or will be working. Just remember no matter where you put your little angle she will be loved, but in a center she won't be held the whole time she's there. It's not that they don't love her, there are other babies that need the caregivers love too :)

Hi, M. -

Both of my boys (5 1/2 and 18-months) go to Goddard in Allen (at Exchange and Malone). My eldest has been to a few preschools prior to Goddard and our experience at Goddard has been above and beyond the level of care and education that he received at the others. Both boys LOVE their classes and have really thrived there. All of their lead teachers are degreed, most with post-grad degrees in education. I ask both the on-site owner (Amanda) and the boys' teachers for advice all of the time b/c they are SO wonderful and so knowledgeable about children. You should really visit Goddard. They're hands-down an amazing school. My eldest is now in Kindergarten at public school and I've begged (both jokingly and seriously) the school owner (Amanda) and Educational Director (Will) to extend their school to K-5th, b/c I just love what they do so much.

As a mom, I would do just about anything to be able to stay home with my little munchkins each day. That just isn't in the cards for us right now...so choosing the absolute best care for my boys was a must. I am 100% confident that Goddard is the best. They recently were awarded best childare/private preschool in the area, too. They do very hands-on learning that my boys just LOVE.

One last thing (I sound like a commercial, I apologize - I'm just SO passionate about Goddard b/c they have honestly made going to work each day a bearable thing for me.) - when we were deciding on a preschool for our boys, I visited several in the area. I then had my husband go and visit the ones that I liked the absolute best. He came home after visiting 3 schools that day and said "I don't know why you didn't just send me to Goddard and be done with it. They're the best. Sign 'em up!". :)

I could go on and on about them, really...

Good luck, M.! Visit Goddard. You'll fall in love with them, I promise.

Hi- I would like to suggest Watters Montessori off of Exchange and Watters. It is on Bossy Boots Rd. My daughter goes there and the one thing I can say about the school is that it is consistant, they don't have teacher turnover and the children are so loved. It is amazing to see the confidence that they instill in these children. The baby room is warm and inviting. Give them a call for a tour- the director is WONDERFUL. This is a "quiet" warm and loving school and they are one of the only Montessoris that takes babies! My daughter and I love to walk by the baby room and watch them play- they look so happy. www.wattersmontessori.com phone: 214- ###-###-####. Good luck I hope you find a wonderful place for your sweet baby girl.

Hi M.,

Both of my kiddos (4.5 years old and 11 months old) go to Kids R Kids of West Allen. It is located on the corner of Alma and Exchange. Their philosophy is to love on them first and then teach them. We have been very happy there, and this is our second year now. All of the teachers that we have encountered have been nothing but loving to our kiddos, and the administration and management does the same. Here's their website: http://kidsrkidsallen.com/ . If you have any other questions, please feel free to send me a message. Like I said, we have been VERY happy with the care that both of our babies have received there.

Good luck!

M.
