Hi - are there any recent Texans that moved here? My husband and I are moving to San Antonio, TX (love the riverwalk) and wanted to know if you moms knew what parts of town we should NOT look for an apartment. I appreciate any advice as I am an "older" mom and a little nervous about the move. Thank you kindly!

What can I do next?

Hi:
San Antonio is my hometown: I grew up there. My parents live on the NE part of town near 1604 and I-35. That area, along with the rest of the city, has exploded population-wise since I left in 1999, so while it is probably relatively safe, I don't know if it is as safe as it used to be. If I were to move back I would probably look for a place on the North (think 281 north/1604) or Northwest side (I-10/1604).

Good luck! And GO SPURS GO! :-)

Hi - we moved from the San Antonio area two years ago. We lived in New Braunfels (just north of SA). In general, north central SA and West SA are pretty nice areas.

Enjoy Texas and don't miss Wurstfest in New Braunfels - starts first weekend in November I think.

My parents live there. Try anywhere along 1604 between interstate 10 and us 281. Stay in the north central area.
