Seeking Advise on Internet Working from Home Employment

I was also looking to work from home a few months ago and most of the replies were some sort of sales, work as a consultant from home position which I was not looking for. I wanted to work for a company as a employee, with benefits etc... I found a link to a company called Alpine Access (alpineaccess.com) on the Clark Howards web page. If I was going to work from home this is the company I would apply to work for. I think there are other companies out there like this one, but according to Clark Howard there are only about 3 or 4 reputable work from home companies like this. If you called his radio show maybe he knows the names of all of them... he is on 1290 AM in the evening... I think 6pm. I don't get to listen to him consistantly, I wish I did. I understand where you are coming from.Sorry to hear of your career going overseas. I think I have what you are looking for. I was looking for the same. I have a 20 month old son and I wanted to be able to be there at least on the weekends. I wasn't making enough $$ to pay all my bills. Being a single mom, I really dont have an option (YET), to be a SAHM full time. I was looking for a legitamate job on line that I could work at night while he slept or even for just a couple of hours a day. I found a great group of moms that helped me. I am a stay at home mom with two children-ages 5 and 7 1/2. I am my own "CEO" and I do not answer to anyone! I pay myself, give myself raises and bonuses! I take off when I feel like it and I work a lot of times in my pajamas!

I am a Beauticontrol Spa Specialist and I LOVE what I do. I go and pamper ladies in their homes or office and spa them for about 2 hours and bring home anywhere from $100-$300 a spa! This is not to mention my commissions that I receive on a monthly basis. Beauticontrol skincare, cosmetics, and spa products sell themselves so it is not hard at all but it sure is a lot of fun!

I know exactly what you are going through. I quit my job of 10 years in A. 2007 to stay at home with my then 14-month-old son. I was 3 months pregnant with my second son also. My husband was making enough money at that time, so we were doing ok. Then, my husband started making less and less money, so he had to find another job. He changed jobs and is making less than he was before, but he was treated very well by the company and the benefits were better. How's the work-at-home search going? Have you been able to find something?

I saw that you received many responses to your posting a few months ago where most of them were business opportunities. Personally, I am a big fan of owning a home-based business, but there's so many out there...how do you know where to start? And most of them require some sort of an investment, so it's even more important to do some research before making a decision.

Have you ever considered working in the real estate industry?

Though real estate is experiencing a bit of a slump, now is a great time to get started. Get the experience you need while it's slow...so that when the industry picks up again you'll be ready!

The past 10 years, I worked as a Mortgage Home Consultant and now my husband and I own a real estate services company.

Being in the real estate business for the past 10 years has been a great experience. Because there are no set hours and I could work from home, I was able to work around my daughters' schedules and still make a good income.

Being a working mom was a necessity, but being there for my daughters was always important to me. Now my daughters are 17/13 and I would like to give other mothers the same opportunity I have.
