Hi there! Just wondering if you can give me some advice on items for twin newborns/infants. What do you suggest for the best stroller? Any suggestions for other items? I would appreciate allllll advice. This is my 2nd and 3rd child, so I've been much less motivated to head on over to Babies R Us! Please share with me your experience with different items for twins. I would really appreciate it.

What can I do next?

Contact the owner of Torrance Children's Orchard at ____@____.com not only owns the best resale children's clothing store, she is also a mother of twins. I just spoke to her and she mentioned items I forgot she had when her twins were born. She will have a wealth of information for you on this topic. She also said that the email address I gave you goes directly to her personally. Torrance Children's Orchard also sets up a booth at Millers Children's Center once a month. Although she won't be there tomorrow, there will be a representative there. Hope this helps you out.

HI Steph,
my son was 17mths when my twins were born, they are now 4mths. Things I could not live without are my swings and my little reclined seats for them, I have used them non stop since they were born. I thought I could get by with one of each, but quickly purchased and borrowed another of each. As for stroller, we have the valco baby, as it can accomodate a toddler seat on front and all three kids can ride in one stroller. We also use the babytrend frame for the double car seats, which comes in handy, but hate to steer the thing.

Hi Steph~
Congratulations on your twins! I have twin fraternal boys now 2. I liked the Graco Duoglider tandem stroller. The seats transferred from the car to the stroller in one click. Also, I don't know if your planning on breastfeeding ( I wasn't able to) but Sam's club has the best price on formula. I got their brand, I think it's called "Presidents Choice" (or something like that) A 3 lb. can for $20. Trust me you'll go through A LOT of formula!!

Good luck!

Congratulations! I know you must feel so overwhelmed right now, but it really can be wonderful. I had a 3 yr old when I just had my twins. It's exhausting, but it's also wonderful.

For your initial stroller, I suggest the snap 'n go double stroller. This is the most light weight, and then you don't have to get them out of their carseats. You can usually find one used. From there, I'd move into a lightweight stroller. I'm a big fan of the Combi because it's lightweight, folds up nicely to take less room in your trunk, and has a tray for drinks.

For other products, it's really the same stuff as with your son. DO NOT get double on everything! You'd be surprised how one baby will take to something & the other won't. We got several bouncey seats to have around the house and 2 swings. After that, I'd wait & see what your babies take to. The co-sleeper is great for night feedings. That way yoy don't even have to get out of bed. The other product that's come on the market lately is the boppy pillow. It's just a round pillow, but it's great for setting your infants in, especially if you're breastfeeding.

hope that helps!

Hi Steph,
I am a mother of 26 year old twins and my daughter is one of the twins also had twins. She bought a Eddie Bauer Stroller. It was well constructed for and nice for the big strolls. But it is big and bulky as well. There are so many types and you just have to find one that fits into your lifestyle. Sometimes it is best to have two types, one to use for the easy in the car with other people and then the one that you know you'll be using in your own vehicle that is ok to be the sturdy one. You can usually find good deals through the Mother of Twins organizations as well. I am pretty sure there is one there in Long Beach.

Hi there Steph F! I just had twins (boy and a girl) about 2 months ago. Congrats to you! Are you having boys, girls, or one of each?

Anyway, I recommend getting the infant carriers from Baby Trend and the double snap and go from baby trend. The stroller is very easy to manuver and not too heavy. We were skeptical at first but we love it!

I would recommend getting the Avent bottle warmer! They are such a lifesaver when you have two screaming babies wanting to be fed at 4:00AM. Get bouncers for the twins and also swings. You can get them cheaper at the Mattel toy store.

Please let me know if you have any other questions...I'd be more than happy to share my experiences with you! Having twins is a lot of work but it is worth it!
Good luck!

Hi Steph! I have a two year old and 4 month old twin girls so I know where you are going to be soon!! It is hectic and overwhelming at times but so worth it!!

As for the stroller, we used the Graco Snugride (which will fit in the baby trend double snap n go) but we bought the Graco Duoglider. It's ok but I so totally see why so many twin mommies have more than one stroller!!! It's ok for a tandem stroller but I also want a side by side now too.

Another good resource for twins is www.twinstuff.com Check out that website. And if you have any questions, please feel free to write me. It's always nice to talk to another Mom who has been there done that!!!

I am also a mother of twins boys, they are now 20
I looked high and low to find a great stroller, I first had a side by side. I wanted them to have the same view.As they got older I found a terrific front/ back stroller. It was old fashioned and was slim. I could go anywhere. It was great. It was low so they could get in and out easily.
Enjoy your twins! it is a fantastic experience. Your older sibling also will love the experience as I was an older sibling of twins as well. If I can be of more help, ask . I live in Rossmoor

Steph,

Congratulations and good luck! I have an unused [still in original box] double stroller I am willing to sell for $75.

There is nothing wrong with reusing good clothing your older child had. Often, people start out dressing twins alike or in similar outfits if one is a boy and one a girl. Big brother may want to get in on the act too so he feels part of things! This can easily be accomplished by having them all wear the same color or same character.

With identical twins some people make sure to dress them with something different to more easily identify 1 twin from the other.

You'll have to watch as your children grow; sometimes they love dressing alike and other times the strive for their own individual identity.

If you'd like to see the stroller, call me or email reply back to me.

My only big suggestion- Allow others to help you when the babies come home. I have a friend that had a 3 year old son when her twin girls were born. She thought "I did it with one, I don't NEED help!" Then when the babies came home, she felt so overwhelmed she almost had a break down. She allowed for all the family and friends that had wanted to help in the first place to do so, and in 4-5 weeks, she had adjusted and was doing fine on her own.

She also said (should I ever have twins) to contact all the formula and diaper compannies and ask for samples for your twins. She said that Pampers, Huggies, and 2 or 3 of the formula brands sent her a full CASE of their product to sample. She also said she was going through a full can of formula a day.

Anyway- congratulations! I don't have advice on the stroller, sorry!
