The thing to remember with treating ADHD at home is that those suppliments are very general and most likely won't do a whole lot. If you want to go a more natural route, find a hollistic doctor in your area. That's the only effective way to truly treat without medication.

Having said that, my 6 yr old son has been on the Daytrana patch for the last 4 months. It has been the best thing for him. Focalin XR worked for a little while, but stopped. The patch has no ups & downs during the day, and is not affected by what he has for breakfast.

Also, removing high fructose corn syrup can help. As can removing red & yellow food coloring. (Most think it's red that the most evil, but yellow is the worst.) If you're not already giving your DD Omega suppliments, I'd definitly start. It takes about 6 months of taking it, but there's a difference. Plus, it does much more than just help with ADHD. It helps keep the brain & the heart healthy in the long run.

We've tried a pill for ADHD (concerta) and had tummy trouble. One thing that really helped our ADHD child was finding out some allergies that multiplied his hyperness...wheat, dairy & soy. He also has had major reactions to dyes, specifically Red40. So we avoid that too. (He takes a calcium supplement for the missed dairy and the almond milk he drinks has alot of calcium and E)

Anyway...we just got on the patch and because it doesn't go through the digestive system to work, we no longer have the tummy troubles! It's great if we have an outing on the weekend and he needs a 3hr dose versus if we leave it on all day, he gets 9hrs of help in curbing the ADHD symptoms. We like it much better than the pill or going w/o any meds as we tried this for over a year and about went crazy! LOL The diet changes actually do help and makes for him taking a MUCH lower dose when we do use meds.

I would go by Whole foods or Sun Harvest. Perhaps they have something you can try on your daughter. I would not order anything off the internet. There is a medicine that comes in the form of a patch. It is called Daytrana patch. It is a prescription drug, but the good news is, she won't have to swollow it. You would apply it to alternating hips each day. I did not check to see where you live, but hopefully there is a Natural food store around your area. I do not think there is an ADHD medicine prescription wise that comes in a liquid, but keep searching. I am sure some of the moms will have some good answer for you. Take care and blessing to you!

rule out a gluten allergy and try to eliminate all dyes from your childs diet then try supplementing with fish oil rich in omega 3 6 and 9

My 6yo son takes Attend a homeopathic med made by Vaxa. We get it at our local health food store. It works wonderfully for him. My husband and I were not ready to put him on any of the prescription meds because of the side effects. Attend has none, does not effect appetite, does not stunt growth, etc.

It is only in capsule form, rather large I might add. But, it says on the bottle if the person can't swallow it to open the capsule and mix it with food. Thankfully, my son doesn't have a problem getting it down.

It does not offer an immediate solution. It takes a few weeks to build up in their system to see the full results. We started my son on one pill then upped it to two. Two does the trick for him.

You might want to look into houston nutraceuticals and digestive enzymes. My oldest son has autism and it has sig. improved his focus and fine tuned his speech, in my opinion. Another good sight is www.enzymestuff.com

I tried Focus Formula several years ago for my children and myself (adult formula), but it wasted away in my pantry because they were chewable and tasted chalky so neither the kids nor myself could tolerate it. I tried to enforce the girls to take it, but even I tried theirs (children formula) and couldn't stand the taste, so...needless to say...it was a waste of my time and money spent; as well as my effort in getting my children (and myself to take it).
Unless they've changed their formula and improved it over the last four years, I wouldn't waste my money on it!
