Hi Ladies, I am seeking a 2nd job here in the Tampa area, I was just wondering if any of you were hiring? Like most families these days my money is stretched so thin, you probably can see through it. I am looking for something parttime for evenings and/or weekends. I have experience in medical billing and coding, retail, restaurant and child care. I search the internet and the Tampa Tribune on a daily basis. So if anyone can help or has any advice on where I should be looking, please let me know.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. I have a few things lined up, will know more in the upcoming weeks. I am now an independent representative for Avon. I would like to find something else. So I am still looking for the right position for me.

If you haven't looked yet, try Craig's list but most seem during regular hours. Retail may be hiring with Christmas coming up. I have an aunt that does medical transcription (I think), it's something medical related, from home. Good luck.

You can always try the home based businesses, Partylite, Pampered Chef, Home Interiors, Princess House but there is always the inital investment and you need a circle of friends to get started or to be a real go getter and not afraid to talk to anyone. If you did, I would pick one that is more recession proof then others. People can go without candles and home decor but with everyone staying home and now eating in, Pampered Chef can have more appeal...recipes, teaching peope that don't know how to cook to cook. I know a great consultant/director that is very family oriented she would definitely help you out. I tried it but my kids are young and working full time it was not for me but I still like the product.

I personally haven't done it, but I have friends who in the past have taken evening jobs at the post office during the holiday season sorting mail. Probably not the most exciting job in the world, but I seem to recall it paid decent for part time, like $13 an hour or so maybe.

If you're interested in a home based business, I, like everyone else probably, have one. Mine isn't as well known as others, but we offer beautiful values-based, family oriented products. You're welcome to check it out at www.createyourtraditions.com and let me know if you have any questions.

Good luck finding something. I know times are looking kinda grim for a lot of people right now but you have to believe it'll turn around eventually.

T.,

I had a hard time finding something in the Tampa area as well. I finally decided to work from home. If you're interested, in working from home without selling, stocking, or home parties, then I highly recommend checking out Internet CEO Moms-- www.internetceomoms.com/jbezanson
Doing business since 1999, we work with an international wellness company who just won the Torch Award from the Better Business Bureau in 2008. It's working great for me!

Good luck!
