Without knowing what terms you are on, you might try this:

If you are trying to work things out, then I would ask him out on a date, and take him to see the movie Fireproof. We went to see it yesterday and it is an amazing movie about marriage. It opens up tons of topics for conversation.

i would just sit down & write out a letter & send it, or you could put it with flowers but for a man i would think he would just appreciate the letter.

I have an idea...go to "Things Remembered" in the mall and get a small silver box there..have it engraved with "home is where the heart is" and put house keys in it.
My fiance' (now husband) did that for me years ago before he proposed, and I thought it might fit in this situation too.

How about you make dinner reservations at his favorite resturant and you tell him how much you miss and love him. Nothing is better that hearing it from you :).

I would go with a romantic evening. You can order a custom labeled bottle of wine with your wedding photo, or any photo you choose, and some stemwear or chocolates, have them delivered or plan romantic dinner and give him the bottle, you enjoy the wine together and it becomes a keepsake because of the photo etc. You can order one at www.TasteYourWineAtHome.com

I 2nd the note.

Whatever happened between the two of you must've been serious to be separated, so a heart-felt note seems appropriate.

Counselling if you're not going would be nice thing to do together too, and expressing your feelings and intentions to a third party would be beneficial and loving.
