Hello moms i am looking to switch my ob/gyn. I don't want to but need to because I don't want to deliver in bfe. I really like my ob but he switched hospitals after my last daughter. We are planning on another and would like this one to be delivered either at Beaumont or Crititen. I was pregnant and misscarried before Easter and will be tring soon again. So it needs to be taken care of in the next couple of months. So I would like to know of your experiences with your ob/gyn if hes through either of those hospitals I wrote about. I am looking for someone who is one on one and deals with high risk pregnancy because thats what I am. I appreciate all opinions and help. Thanks you!

I would recommend Catherine Stark-- or any Dr. at Oakland Macomb OBGYN. The office is in the well pointe building on S. Blvd. in front of Troy Beaumont. She and Dr. Love (great name, eh?) delivered my daughter via c-section. I switched here after having a miscarraige, myself. My entire family goes here.

Not sure if you are close enough but I suggest Dr. Maser. He is the best. He is now in Haslett on the corner or Marsh and Haslett Rd. I can not remember the phone number off the top of my head but if you look him up on the internet you should be able to find him. But remember he no longer works at Meridian Womans Health he has his own practice now in Haslett so call that number...Good luck...His wife works as the receptionist in the office. Not sure how you feel about a male doctor but he is WONDERFUL...he delivered one of my boys and has been my main Dr. for 4 years. He is for High Risk as well...

Hi,
I'll tell you a little story and see if it sounds like what your looking for. I was 35 when I had my first child, kept seeing my family doctor right to the end. The day before I had an emergency c-section I had gone to the Doctor and felt fine. Within hours I had swelled up, my blood pressure went through the roof,220-180( yeah stoke level). Went to hospital and within 20 minutes I had an emergency c section with my husband eating goldfish crackers in a waiting room, scared to death. Found out 2 years later another one on the way. Needless to say I was delighted and scared at 38 years old. I was refered to Dr. Daniel Greene of Rochester. I had my second child at Crittonton just like the first , but this time I was monitored and had a VBAC, night and day difference. Dr. Greene is gentle kind and a loving father. His office is in Rochester alomost across the street from Crittenton Hosp.at 1202 W. Walton Blvd.
I hope this helps. It did for me, I had great piece of mind going through my second pregnancy.

Hello K., First, I am sorry for you loss, my thoughts are with you.

I saw a lot of choices for you already, but I suppose another one wouldn't hurt. If you want to check her out, she is Dr. Deborah Mikula out of Clinton Women's health care (I also highly recommend Dr Brian Torok who is part of that practice). they deliver out of Troy Beaumont.

I was almost 36 when I had a high risk c-section. Everything went really well. Dr. Mikula was completely prepared for everything and her personality is so great! Very upbeat and understanding as well as very informative.

There are also two other doctors involved in the practice (Chu and Perry) who I liked, but just did not interact with as much as Dr. Torok and Dr. Mikula.

Dr Mark Schare is out of Beaumont and is wonderful. He was my OBGYN with my first two children. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. I moved out of the area and had to use different doctors for my last two deliveries. I was so distraught about it. It's so difficult to leave someone when you feel you've got the best. I can tell you from experience (using three different doctors) that he has incredible bed-side manners, he's professional yet extremely kind and empathetic to anything you may be going through. And most of all, I felt confident and safe for myself and my babies.

Good luck with your search!

Hi K.,

I am sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. In regards to an Ob/Gyn I LOVE mine. His name is Dr. Kwaiser and he is out of Troy Beaumont, that is where is office is as well. He is very personnal, gently and a great listener. He did my hysterectomy this past Sept. and he did not take it lightly, being that I am only 36yrs. old. I would not have trusted anyone else. His office number is ###-###-####. If you any questions please email me. I wish you and your family the best of luck.

Hi K.,

My OB/GYN is Dr. Joann Smith at the Laurel Women's Medical Group. She is the only doctor there (along with other staff) so it is one on one. Her office is located in Bloomfield Hills at 15 mile & Telegraph and she delivers at Beaumont Royal Oak. I was not high risk but according to her website she does handle high risk pregnancies. I switched to her a few years ago when I was pregnant and I had a great experience with her and recommend her highly. She has a website you can go to at www.laurelwomensmedicalgroup.com.

Good Luck,

J.

My daughter and I go to Dr. Charfoos at the West Bloomfield Clinic offices. She is an excellent physican, part of a larger practice for support and one that has her patient's best interest at heart. FYI.

Good Luck.

If you are considered High Risk you will want to deliver at a hospital that has a level 1 NICU. I am sure Beaumont has one but I doubt Crittenton has one. I used Dr. Blessed out of Southfield Providence. He was awesome! He is overly cautious when he needs to be and his staff of nurses are excellent! If you can do Southfield, I would definitely choose him. He sees private patients on tuesdays and I think Thursdays. He works the High Risk clinic for those without insurance the other days. Sorry to hear about your loss - I too had a miscarriage. Dr. Blessed did tell me that once you have a miscarriage, your risk goes down with having another one. Good Luck!

The high rish doc there is Dr Russel Jelsma. I visited him breifly and know him professionally. He was very personable but you feel confident he knows what he is doing. He is very well respected in the community as well.
