Hi all,
I'm a new mom and breastfeeding. My baby is a month old and I'm about to go stir crazy. Does anyone know of mommy and me groups in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area for Newborns and New moms?!
With gratitude,
E.

Hi E.,
I run Mom and baby groups at the Santa Monica Pump Station and will begin some new groups also at fitdimensions women's gym in Brentwood in April. If you wish, you may come to my current class for the next 2 weeks, which is at the Santa Monica Pump Station, Weds 11-12:30. (I have a spring vacation break from March 13-March 28th.)

I realize these are farther than you wanted. I can recommend Marilee Hartling's groups at the Hollywood Pump Station which is on Vine near Sunset.

Hope that helps!
I have more info on my website www.babyattuned.com

Hi E.,

Call Golden Bridge Yoga. It's in your neck of the woods and they do lots of pregnancy and post partum classes. If they don't have what you're looking for you can probably get a referral there.
Best,

Hello, E..

I don't know if you'd be willing to venture out into Hollywood, but the Pump Station on Vine and Fountain has an excellent an Breastfeeding support group and the first session is free with your newborn. I found it was a great way to meet other new moms and get helpful advice on breastfeeding. It's a great place because you can feel comfortable nursing because everyone else nurses at some point. I remember feeling like you did at that stage and it was so helpful to get out and meet other moms who are going through the same thing. I hope that helps you out. Good luck.

All the best,
E.

As others said, I can't recommend The Pump Station enough in Hollywood! The phone number is: ###-###-#### and the address is 1248 Vine Street. They have a breastfeeding support group for babies 0-4 months and one for babies 4-8 months. They also have other groups held there like Mommy & Me class, Sign Language, and things they call "Hot Topics." Wendy is the lactation consultant that runs the groups in Hollywood, Corky runs them in Santa Monica. They are the most fabulous women and saved me when I was struggling with breastfeeding. I went every week for 8 months and my baby is now 13 months and I really miss their groups. You will meet great women there!

Hi E.,

There's a Mommy and Me class held at Plummer Park on Fridays from 10:45 to 12:54. The same class is held on Teusdays and Wednesdays at Park La Brea at 11 to 12:45. The teacher's name is E. and you can contact her at ____@____.com class is really for pre-schoolers but there are usually babies there as well - at least there were when I went to the class. There's also a West Hollywood Mom's group. I think you can find them on the web.

Good luck and keep looking! Sometimes you can find good info at the Library (Check out the one in Beverly Hills or my favorite the Fairfax branch of the Los Angeles Library on Gardner.) Go for walks and head to the park a lot. The park that usually has the most Mommies is the West Hollywood park on San Vicente near Santa Monica. The library there is good too. The Grove is also a good place to go for a walk and possible meet some new moms. I'm pretty sure the Grove movie theater still does mommy and baby matinees during the week - that might be a good place to look for other new moms too.

There are a lot of things to do in LA with babies and young chidren but you have to really take it upon yourself to look. If you'd like any other suggestions please send me a message. I am a stay at home mom in the West Hollywood area and I'm pretty well versed in all this area has to give for families!

Hi E.,
oh, yes there is a wonderful place for you to go to, or you have 2 places..it's called The Pumpstation....and yes its a place where u "pump" no, kidding. There are wonderful groups that meets twice a week, for different ages, 0-4months, 4-8 months and 8-12 I believe.
Corky and Wendy are the names of the loveley ladies who's holding them...and you get support, friendship yes all what you can think of...there is a shop as well in the place if you want to buy suff for you or the baby.
It really saved my life when my baby was born, I went the first time she was 2 weeks old! And now she's 2 1/2 years old and I still miss the place!!
One is in Hollywood, on Franklin and Vine, and the other one in Santa Monica on Wilshire blvd. Look it up on the web.
Good luck E. an say hello from The Swedish mom A. and Kaia and tell them i'm expecting again in 9days!!!
take care,
A.

My friend, who used to live in WeHo, turned me onto momsclub.org. They have chapters according to area. I'm in the Studio City one and have made the best friends for myself and my 16 month old. They have playgroups once a week as well as Moms Night Out and charity project, etc. It's only $35 a year. Look on the site and look for your area and give the coordinator a call.
