My son really wants a birthday party away from home for his friends for his 6th birthday. I have checked out ChuckECheese and there is no way I could afford it. Does anyone know of any other places in York to try that won't cost $200?

What can I do next?

That's what totally bites about being born in the winter! Trust me, I know all about it! There's always the tried and true activities like bowling parties and ice skating/roller skating parties. However, if you have a bunch of 6 year-olds on your hands and just want to sit back and watch them run themselves silly, there's a place in Emigsville called "The Blast". Logan plays soccer there. They've got a huge 5 level play structure. There are slides and tunnels and other things to climb on and jump off of. Check out www.theblast.net. A party for 12 kids, plus pizza or hot dogs, snacks, ice cream and sodas and 2 hours of play is $199.00. You also get a coupon for your next visit to Kids Blast and a T-Shirt for the birthday boy! It says if you have less than 12 kids to call them, I'm guessing the price would be reduced then. Let me know what you find! I'll be asking the same question in two more years!

How about a bowling party? Some local bowling alleys offer party packages - pizza a game or two of bowling - etc. for reasonable rates. My 6 year old went to one last year and really had fun. No clean up for you......and it's much more tolerable than Chuck E Cheese (I h-a-t-e that place!!) :)

My son just turned 6 last month and we had his party at the Colony East Bowling Alley on East Market St, going towards Hellam. It was a lot less expensive than ChuckeECheese, however if you are having a pretty big party than it may be close in price range. However, it is a switch from the same ole thing. :)

It costs $12.95 per child~this includes 2 hrs of bowling, a slice of pizza/hotdog & a beverage, the shoe rental, ball, and 8 tokens for the arcade. The birthday child also gets a customized bowling pin(very cute).

I also considered minature golfing but it may be a little cold for your little guys party.

Hope this helps!
