The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a wonderful, family oriented church. I was pleasantly surprised when I started investigating the church! After about six moths of checking it out, I became a member. There are classes and activities for the children, as well as great studies for the adults. It is definitely worth checking into. Check out www.lds.org and the site should also help answer any questions you might have.

I attend Life Connection Church in Jenks. It's non-denominational; everyone's welcome. The worship is contemporary with a band(guitar, drums, piano) and singers. They sing a mix of new and old songs. It's on Main street just south of the McDonalds. It is a very kid-friendly church. They have classes for newborns through 8th grade during both Sunday morning services at 9am and 11am. Pastor Brent and Janis Sharpe are husband and wife and they preach together which is a nice dynamic you don't see in most churches. They also are licensed therapists so they have their own private practice they do on the side in addition to helping those in the church with counseling. They have what the call Lifegroups throughout the week at people's homes, which are bible studies. This church also hosts the MOPS(Mothers of Preschoolers) meetings for this area. There are several ladies events that the church does like an upcoming ladies retreat and a couple groups of ladies that meet I think every week. Hope you come, it's a great place.

Hi T.-
We recently moved from the Tulsa area, but while we were there we attended Fellowship Bible Church. They have a great children's program, adult things to be involved in! We loved it and always felt very comfortable with the children's area.

We got to Woodland Acres Baptist Church about 51st and Harvard. There are kids activities on Wednesday nights with AWAna, and missions groups. SUnday nights there is children's choir and also adult Bible studies. In the summer there is Bible school, and also children's camp for a week. We have a child care center that runs after school and during school for preschool children. Just a neat church and people from all income levels. There are womens sunday school classes for single women.
I think that you would like it. You should give it a try.

We got to Victory Christian Center. We are in the middle of a HUGE children's wind add on that will have the Woodland Hills carosel when we're done. They are so devoted to children. And they have tons of cell groups that meet often. If you ever want to go, let me know. We would be happy to take you with us. I come from a small town, Checotah, and was really frightened at how large this church was. But after I had my daughter and started taking her to the nursery, I really met a lot of nice people. It helped me connect and it really feels like a small church now. I hear the cell groups help to but I haven't joined one yet due to always working and taking care of kids. But I got laid off a few weeks ago and want to join one now.

I have been a member of Evergreen Baptist Church for a while and love it! My daughter is 14 and loves the children's Pastor. I do know that we have several different classes available for you as well. One of the cool things about our church is that you can go to any class you want! For example: It doesn't matter that the class is called College and Career. Anybody can go to it. My wife and I were in College and Career "helping" for about 5 years! The Lord has since moved us to the 40's class of which we love as well! The name of the church is Evergreen Baptist Church and is located on 111th between Mingo and Memorial on the north side of the road. Their website is Evergreenbc.org. They also podcast all of the sermons! oh, we have 2 services. The first one is traditional and starts at 8:15. The second service, (the one my family enjoys the most), starts at 10:45. Sunday school is between the services and starts about 9:15ish. When you come and visit you can't help but become a part of our "church family"
I hope this is a help for you. It is important to find a church where the Lord wants you and your family. I hope to see you and your family there so we can welcome you to our "church family".

I have a list of several great churches in Tulsa, but would like to know if religion is an issue, and if you are willing to cross to the east side of the river first. Could you let me know? Thank you! Sara P
