Seeking a Church in Olathe

We have just moved to Olathe from Dallas, and we are seeking a church home. We went to a Baptist church in Texas, but it was bordering on non-denominational, very hip music, great children's program, etc. We are looking for something like that - not too big, but with good options for our kids. I am open to all suggestions - please let me know if you LOVE your church! We are looking to make friends, and we know this is the best way to meet people. Thanks!

There si church in Olathe called Olathe Bible Church. It is non-denomination. My husband and I went there for a while the people were great. Our daughter loved the care she had during services. They have clsses that you can take as a couple for more learning. The only reason my husband and I left was we were looking for something closer to home. You should check it out...I think you'll like it. It is off of 151st Street I think near Pflumm. Let me know what you think.

You just described my church to a tee!!! We belong to Grace Church off 159th/Antioch! We LOVE it!!! Our pastor delivers such a meaningful message every Sunday! The atmosphere is very casual and the children's ministry is out of this world! I really recommend checking it out. We have tried many other churches that were mentioned, and while all great, this one seems to fit what you said you are looking for! I also wanted to say Welcome! My husband and I just moved from Plano last year! Let me know if you'd like to visit more and I would love to hear from you! Take care! A.
P.S. If you do end up at Grace, let me know and I'll come say Hello!

I don't go to church, but my best friend from the fifth grade recommended St. Andrew's in Olathe. It is a Diciples of Christ denomination.

I have been attending Life Church for a little over a year now. check out their web site WWW.GETLIFE.INFO Also if you will be at the Old Settlers day they are the church in ORANGE! I also came from a smaller Baptist church (more on the reserved side). I LOVE THIS CHURCH I feel so comfortable there. I pray God will lead you to where you need to be like he did me.

Someone mentioned Olathe Bible Church. I have never been, but know others who have, and I would recommend it as well. It was originally a church plant from the church I grew up in, Shawnee Bible Church, and about 12 years ago Olathe Bible Church planted the church I'm at now, Mill Creek Community Church.

Mill Creek Community Church is near 87th & K-7, so it would be closer if you are in northern or western Olathe. We have a great children's program. We have Word of Life Olympians on Wednesday nights. This Wednesday will start our 2nd year doing that, and I work with the 4, 5 & 6 year olds (Gopher Buddies) in that program.

Westside Church of the Nazarene. They have a great service for families as well as older children. If you want a place that focuses on family, fun and FABULOUS childrens activities, this is them. Everyone there is super welcoming and they plan alot of fun field trips. Maybe worth a visit!

When you described your former church it sounds just like our church. It has baptist roots but it is or is more like a non-denominational church. The music is incredible and there are so many young family's. The people are so so loving and our pastor has a sincere heart for God and staying true to God's word. I really would not be suprised if you end up at our church-Grace Church. It is located and 159th and Antioch.

Welcome to the city!

I also live in Olathe. We belong to Church of the Resurrection that is located in Leawood, 135th and Nall. This is a Methodist Church however their mission is for non-denominational people who are or aren't Christians to come together and learn about the lord. The pastor there, Adam Hamilton, is a brilliant speaker who I can guarantee will capture your attention. It is a large church however they have all types of small groups within the church community for people to join who share interests. They try very hard in making the large church feel like a small one. There are so many opportunities to meet people and get active within the church. The part I love the most is that the Pastor really concentrates on taking on parts of the bible and relating them to real life, our lives. I would suggest attending a sermon just to see if it's right for you. They also have a satellite site at the middle school in Western Olathe. Feel free to check it out at www.cor.org. Good luck!

I highly recommend Olathe Bible Church. They have amazing services for their congregation. They are large enough to offer amazing programs for the kids and parents alike but small enough that you are on a first name basis with many people. The children are in a secure area and are only released to you with a tag that has a number on it. They also provide you with a pager so that should something go wrong while you are in the sanctuary, you can be paged. It just gives you a good sense of peace knowing you can always be reached. Oh, and they have great music too. It is definitely worth trying.
