Hi E.,
You are not the only one concerned, however I think it has more to do with the new school district(Twin Rivers) than anything. My daughter attends a different school than your's but in the same district & we had problems early on at the beginning of the year. We set an appt with the counselor only to find out that there is only one for the entire school. Apparently she is way overbooked!!We had to share our appt with another parent??? I don't know what your specific issue's are but I have not been happy with the way my daughter has been treated & don't think it's going to change anytime soon.
My husband & I have been looking for other area's to move to for a better school situation for her.But I do relize that is not an option for everyone. With home price's the way they are we thought now might be a good time. Our neighborhood gets worse with every year, the crime in my area has risen, our cars have been broken in to along with a couple of my neighbors. Since we can't seem to find any other parents who are happ;y with the current situation in our school district, it may be time for a change. Our biggest problem is that moving her now will be hard for her, leaving friends she has gone to school with since 1st grade.I am glad to hear though that it's not just us!!!!!
Since this year is the first year for the new district I'm sure it will just take them a little time to get the bugs worked out so to speak but as long as you still have your child in the same district I think it will be the same at any school...I don't know I could be wrong but.....
I would love to hear a lil more feedback from the other parents too, if you wouldn't mind sharing?
I would also love to hear about any options you might find. I WILL NOT SEND MY DAUGHTER TO THE CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL!!!! I have heard nothing good about Foothills High, I think I would rather home school her! The problem with that is I work full time. I have been trying to get more info for the new high school in Antelope (on Walerga) is it open yet? Can my daughter get a transfer there? And is it worth it to transfer her??? Like you I have many questions.....Let me know what you find out....Thanks & Good Luck!!!! L.

My son attends one of the charter schools, and we have had great success. i'm always e-mailing or calling he's two teachers for updates. i work full time and i'm a single mom so its hard for me to on top of everything with the school but so far he is doing really well. twin rivers is struggling but i have e-mailed the district several times with complaints and they have been resolved. i think alot has to do with the teachers.

I can say Foothill Junior and High or not very good schools. I know some of my friends have kids that go to both of these kids and some really like it and some do not really care about it. it again comes down to the teachers and how well we as parents communicate..

in response to the new school in antelope yest it's opened and my understanding is they are not taking out of district transfers. one of my freinds tried and they denied her. this is a multi million dollar school and its very nice, if you can get your kids into the school they will love it,

Are you looking for private or public? In Antelope, there are a couple of good middle schools in the Dry Creek Joint Unified school District (public). One is Antelope Crossing Middle School which is on near Don Julio Road and North Loop in Antelope. They also opened a new middle school this year, Creek View Ranch Middle School. I substitute with Dry Creek School District. Antelope Crossing Middle School is a good school. I don't know much about Creek View Ranch to give you a good opinion. I also don't know about any private school, so I can't help you there. Good luck on finding a good school for your daughters!
