Searching for Someone

There are databases where you can do a search by first name (or first and last) and date of birth. I did this when I found my birthmom, because I had her birthdate and first name. I paid someone on the internet about $10 (this was over 10 years ago) for the results; they had a subscription to the database. This will significantly narrow down the list of people with your brother's name, and you can start with the ones that are closest to his state of origin. There are also sites on the internet for adoptees or birth parents hoping to reunite, and they might be able to direct you to someone who will do a lookup on one of these databases for a small fee. You can do a simple search at www.whitepages.com; you can get an address and a phone number.

I don't know what state he lives in - but you may want to try PublicData.com - there is a charge, depending on how many look-ups you want but it was very helpful to me when locating someone. FYI - it only covers certain States due to confidentiality laws. Thought it might help!

I was in the same situation a couple of years ago except I was actually looking for my father. I hired a Private Investigator, it cost me about $100, and he found not only my father but my brother and two sisters. I grew up an only child so it was overwhelming when I found out I had 3 other siblings. We now have a great relationship and it fells like we have known each other our whole lives.

Any idea where he may have attended high school or college? You could try their alumni groups or something like classmates.com or reunion.com Their fees are very small. Or if you have an idea what he looks like or his metro area, you might even try something like Facebook or Myspace to see if he is active there. Best of luck to you.
