Hello!

My family and I are moving to Baton Rouge in the next few weeks. I need to set up some doctors for us. I need an OBGYN. I want someone that absolutely cares and is very good in labor and delivery. I also need a Neurologist. My children need a pediatrician. My husband needs a Pulmonologist. I believe that our insurance provides Lady of the Lakes, Womans, Ochsner, & Earl K Long Medical Center.

What can I do next?

Welcome to Baton Rouge! I see a doctor in the Women's Clinic. I would recommend any doctor in there but more especially Dr. Moore and Dr. Lawler. They delivered my last two children and were wonderful and VERY SWEET! Dr. Moore remembered me 1 year later and remembered the conversations we had while I was in labor. Dr. Lawler came in to see the baby after I was back in my room and asked me if he could just sit in the corner and snuggle the baby all day. Both very good doctors as far as expertise go as well. If you are looking for a woman I would go with Dr. Peek. She is very experienced and kind as well. They work in a physician's tower that is on the same campus as Woman's hospital so they are very close to where you will deliver if you decide to go with them. I hope this helps. Good luck with everything.

Dr. Ronnie Bombet is at the Baton Rouge Clinic behind Lady of the Lake and he is an great Dr. to my little girl. She loves him. Also Dr. Fatteyah is a great Dr. for me. She was great during my pregnancy and delivery, she is at Woman's Hospital. As for the other two I am not to sure about. You can actually pull it up online with your insurance company and it will tell you all of your Dr's you can see. Good Luck and be safe with your move.

My OB/GYN is Lisa Gautreaux. Since my baby-making days are long past, I don't know how she is in the delivery room, but as my GYN when I was going through early-onset menopause, she was great. She listens, and she recognizes that I know what is and isn't normal for my body. She also doesn't try to talk me into meds or procedures I don't want.
When my daughter was younger, her pediatrician was Froilan Tolentino. He's in Zachary, and he uses Lane Memorial, but if your insurance covers Lane, he's worth the time and gas to get there.
I don't have a GP. My husband's GP is Tracie Ballinger at Ochsner and he really likes her.

I go to the Baton Rouge Clinic on Perkins Rd (near Essen Lane/Staring Lane). They have been in business for 60 years. I used to work there twice, for a total of 5 years. They have an all-in-one setting. Pediatrics, Pulmonary, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Allergy, Surgery, Internal Medicine (primary doctors), ENT (Ear, Nose, & Throat), Endocrinology, Dieticians, Diabetic nurses, Coumadin nurse. They also have on-site lab, xray, MRI, Ultrasound, etc. Here is their website:

I see Dr. Edmund Vinci (he's speedy, & my mom used to work for him), my husband sees Dr. R. Todd Cooley (very friendly), and my daughter sees Dr. Traci Brumung (Very nice, on the first floor). Those are just our "primary" doctors.

OBGYN- Dr. Guidry...She is in the Woman's Physician Tower. She is in practice with the Schwartzenburgs (sp?). I love her and you actually know that she is sincere when she is talking to you. I have also seen 2 of the Schwartzenburgs in Dr. Guidry's absence (Dr. Edward and Dr. Cliffordo) and they are both great too.

Pediatician - Dr. Tribou...He is at the Baton Rouge Clinic in Perkins/Essen area. From the moment we met with him before our daughter was born he's been great and Katie really likes him too.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I wouldn't recommend my obgyn--she's been great for me, but...
I love my pediatrician! Dr. Stephanie Kelleher at the Pediatric Clinic. The clinic is great too. I've never waited long, my kids actually enjoy going. She is also a mother--I think her kids are from 1 1/2 to probably about 10, so she understands what is really going on--with the child and with Mom!

I am a mom and a nurse in Baton Rouge. I hope I can help. Pediatricians first: I LOVE my doctor, Michelle Flechas. She is in a group of about 10 doctors on Bluebonnet Blvd. The office is open 7 days a week, weekend appointments are for sick or urgent cases.

I also love my OB/GYN, Dr. Susan Futayyeh. She really does care and is very gentle, but I am not sure if she is still delivering babies. Two other OB/GYNs that I can recommend from friends are: Dr. Ann LaFranca and Dr. Renee Harris.

I worked in Critical Care for 9 years at Our Lady of the Lake, and my absolute favorite Pulmonologist is Dr. Pirzadah. Dr. William Hines would be my next choice.

The only Neurologist that I know is in pediatrics, Dr. Barbara Golden. I have not had personal experience with her, but I know people that see her and they are pleased.

Our Lady of the Lake is my favorite pediatric emergency hospital, but I prefer the Baton Rouge General for adult ER services. I have not been to Oschner Hospital, but I have heard that if your condition is serious that they send you to the Lake or the General. Earl K. Long is a charity hospital, you want to stay away from there. :)

Good luck with the move and the family. I hope this was helpful.

my pediatrician is Dr. Traci Brumund and she is at the Baton Rouge Clinic on Perkins Road. She is absolutely wonderful, compassionate, and thorough. She spends time with you and truly loves children. I highly recommend her. She is the mother of two young children and I feel this aids in her understanding of both parents and children. Good luck in your search!

I highly recommend my OBGYN, Dr. Holden-Parker. She is great. She actually saved me from having to get a hysterectomy when I had complications with the delivery of my first child. I am now pregnant again and wouldn't dream of using anyone else. She is at Womans. Also, for a pediatrician we use Dr. Bankston at the Baton Rouge Clinic and she is great as well. I know a lot of moms that talk really highly of her and the kids love her too which is always great.

Well I can't beat the one-stop-shop, but I will gladly tell you about a couple of drs I use.

OB/GYN- You can't go wrong with one of the Schwartzenburg brothers (in the Physicians Tower at Woman's). They are the friendliest, most caring, and gentle drs I've experienced. I don't like a rush job. I like to know that if I ever need their time and attention, I have it.

Pediatrician- Dr. Tiffany Chevalier is AWESOME! (She is on Goodwood Blvd. across from Woman's) My kids hate doctors. She has become their friend and not this big mean dr that gives shots. Every kid I know that goes there loves her.
