One idea is just not telling them you have five. It works if one of the little ones doesn't mind sleeping on the floor or on one of those useless chairs hotels seem compelled to place in the room.

We just went to Sea World this past weekend and we stayed at a Marriott Towne Place Suites off of Prue Rd. It is near I-10 and Huebner Rd. We stay there every time now and it is about 15 minutes from Sea World. The hotel is pretty new, only a few years old, and has a suite (with a separate bedroom and a pull out couch in the living room) for $159 per night. It is great for our family since we can put the kids to bed and then stay up for awhile and watch TV or hang out in the living area. It also has a small kitchenette with a microwave, stove and refrigerator. They also have smaller rooms that also have the kitchen, but not the separate bedroom for around $89 per night. It is called the Marriott Towne Place Suites Northwest if you want to look into it. Hope that helps! We had a blast this weekend and the hotel works great for us.

Forgot to mention that they also have breakfast included and on weekdays they have a small dinner that is included too (things like frito pie, burgers, etc.). It changes every day and is only Monday through Thursday. Good luck and have fun at Sea World!

We are a family of 6 and we always try to stay at the Hyatt Place. We have found it works very well for our family. It has 2 double beds and then a separate living area with a pull out couch. The rooms are pretty spacious and have a sink and refrigerator (a must for our family). They also include a light breakfast, which is great for our family. They are usually around $100/night. Have fun!

We live in the Sea World area and when we were replacing our floors we had to find a hotel on short notice. We got two rooms at the Holiday Inn for one night for $175. The Hyatt is really nice, but it's also expensive. The Holiday Inn is about the same distance away from Sea World.

Good luck and have fun!

Have you tried AAA or Costco travel? They may have better deals. My husband was just looking for a hotel for me and my two girls in FL and one hotel said they did not have any rooms for the nights I was asking for to accommodate two kids. So, for grins he changed it to one and they had rooms with two double beds!!! Play with the sites and see what happens, then call the hotel directly.

Sea World is pretty isolated. Right across the main road are several hotels but pricey. Hyatt Hill Country Resort is a family oriented place-really large rooms, daily activities for kids, the pool is set up like a river with tubes, bike riding (if available), sand beach for playing and at night s'mores at the firepit and movies on the lawn with free popcorn. Of course with all this, you don't want to leave the place. But once in awhile a splurge is great-we had a blast. They have a sister place that is western theme and supposedly cheaper and it's one block from this location.
BUT, you don't have to stay right next to Sea World. You could look along 410. Google places by Ingram Park Mall. It;s pretty easy to find your way around-take 410 to Sea World drive.
Also try places along 1604 by I10 which are cheap due to Fiesta, Tx. Many new ones along there. It would be straight 1604 to Sea World drive.
Both of these locations take about 15 minutes or less depending on traffic. Stay away from downtown and airport.
There is also a website called S.A.V.E. San Antonio Visitor's Guide which offers many coupons.
Hope this helps.

I haven't checked SA specifically, but have you tried Comfort Suites?

They usually have 2 queen size beds, and a fold-out sofa bed. I would hope they would be cheaper than $185... can you drive a little farther out? The hotels are usually cheaper farther away from the main attractions.

When we went to DC 7 years ago (yeah, a LONG time ago), we found a Comfort Suites quite a ways out, but got it for about $100 a night, for 6 people in the room

They usually have a swimming pool, and also offer a complimentary breakfast.... it was better than the usual donuts or bagels most places have. They had other breakfast items (self-serve) like bacon and scrambled eggs, french toast, or pancakes.

Try one of the suites hotels. Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Candlewood, Embassy, etc. There are many more, that's just off the top of my head.

We do a lot of travel and we pay over $100 for most all hotels, even with our corporate card and staying 20+ nights a year at the same hotel. We use the Hilton family of hotels for 98% of our stays.

Good luck

Please try priceline.com and name your own price. You will truly save 40-50% on hotels. I use it everytime we go somewhere. I was recently in San Antonio, but we stayed in the riverwalk area in a 5 star hotel for only $70/night. Our room was huge...we stayed at the Hotel Contessa. The hotels in that area were pretty expensive just because they are on the riverwalk. I am sure you will be able to find something. Good Luck!
