Hey, first time mom here and need to start scrapbooking (gotta 9 mo. old) but am completely overwhelmed by this whole process which is ironic considering I'm a professional artist. Could you please share any info on groups or classes in or even near Long Beach? thanks!

The Scrapbook Depot in Los Alamitos has classes and crops. I've always wanted to do their Friday night crop. Maybe I'll see you there sometime. :-)

Hi M.!
I can relate. I find that setting time aside away from my kids helps me to focus on scrapbooking. I hook up with a creative memories lady, and scrap at a workshop night. here is a consultant in your area if interested..
###-###-#### Her name is JAn.
Do not put it off too long or it will snow ball on you.
Good Luck,

I agree with Sarah, go digital. It's not as 3D as regular scrapbooking but it has been the best solution for me. I have 2 kids and it has been really tough getting motivated to haul out all the supplies each time I want to scrapbook. It doesn't help that everything needs to be put away before the kids wake up. I don't have the space in my house to have one room or area devoted to scrapbooking where I can leave all my supplies out for the next time I am ready to work on it. Because I have 2 little ones, I also do twice the scrapbooking. It has been really convenient to have 2 pages printed (one for each child's album) or just make a few changes here and there to personalize the page for that child. I did start out doing regular scrapbooking with my first child but it just got too overwhelming. I got further and further behind. I was also taking LOTS of photos. When the 2nd child came along, I decided to go digital. It's still work to keep the albums updated but I don't feel as overwhelmed anymore. Good luck!

Go Digital!! The process is much less messy, and considerably less overwhelming! You can use any software you like that is good for photo editing, and you can be as artistic as you want! But, the two best parts are: You don't have to clean up any messes, since it's all in your computer, and You can use all your papers and embellishments over and over because you aren't really cutting them out.

When you are done with your pages, you can have them printed at Costco, or bound into really nice hardback books! :D

Feel free to send me a private message if you want to know more sites for digital scrapbooking!! I'll be happy to share the contents of my bookmarks folder with you!!

Huggles!!

Hello M.,

I wanted to start scrapbooking again. I have a 2 1/2 yr old. I have a few other friends that are interested in getting together a few times a month to scrapbook. It would be in the Cypress area, not sure if you would be interested.

If so, send me a message.

M.

Hi M.,

I have the perfect solution for you! =)

Please check out my website at http://www.Story2Tell.com. It is an online book publishing system that is exactly like scrapbooking - only it's all online!

When I used to scrapbook in the traditional way, it was difficult because I did not have a room dedicated to all my items...so I always had to pull everything out and then put it all back again. That takes time and then it takes time to figure out what to create. With a little one in the house, you also need to make sure everything is out of reach.

With the online system, anytime you have a free moment (usually after all the kids are asleep!), you just log in and then start preserving your treasured stories.

Once you are done creating your book, it is sent to be published. You will get a beautiful hardback library bound book that generations to come will be able to read about. There are all sizes to choose from as well as creating your own cards, posters and calendars...all online! The 5x5 size is perfect for grandparents! =)

Here is a link to a demo on how the system works:
http://support.heritagemakers.com/tutorials/overview/Stud...

You can create your own account from my home page which is absolutely free to do. You can then try out the system. However, to have access to all the Scrapbooking Girls papers and embellishments (thousands to choose from!), the cost is a monthly fee of $19.95 (renewing) or $24.95 (one time). The cost is so much less than if you were to spend on scrapbooking supplies the traditional way.

For more information, please contact me through my website or email me at ____@____.com. I know you will love the system and seeing your first published book will be priceless.
