Scary Halloween Costume for Me

I'm going to my monthly game night with the ladies in the neighborhood and was just informed that the theme is Halloween (OK) and that we have to dress in Scary Costumes. I hate costumes, even more so, I hate scary costumes because they usually require a mask or an item you have to carry and they are not really scary. I was thinking about trying to do something scary but clever at the same time. For instance, I was thinking of being the Swine Flu, but I don't know how to translate that into a costume. So I was hoping that I could get some creative ideas for some costumes. Any suggestions, it's not until 10/30 so I have a little bit of time, but not much. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Since this is clearly an adult event, I would go dressed in my regular clothes and cite the line from the Addams Family Values "I'm dressed as a psycho killer. They look just like ordinary people." And seriously, what is scarier than that? If you don't think you can pull that off, go dressed as every woman's nightmare: you having turned into your mother.

I like your swine flu idea. Here's how I would do it:

pig nose
pom poms stuck all over my clothes to represent the virus

Good luck!

This probably won't work, but I had to share...
We just had a conversation with my brother in law about a costume he wore a few years ago. He dressed as "vampire Santa" - basically a santa costume, with some vampire teeth and some blood dripping from the corner of his mouth into his beard. He said he ended up having to change out of it because kids were literally balling after they came to his house for candy.

Swine flue "costume" - maybe a doctor coat and stethascope, with a stuffed animal pig in the pocket or on your shoulder. See if you can find or make one of those masks doctors wear for the pig?

I'd go with the "tongue in cheek" scary theme - the things you think of as a mom/wife etc. that are scary, like laundry, etc. Good luck and have fun :)

One year my son dressed in a suit and tie and carried a brief case that said IRS agent. Wouldn't you be scared if the IRS showed up at your front door?? If someone commented about "his costume" he pulled out a paper that often causes adults to tremble. In his bag, he had a paper that said "you are getting a tax audit"
