Besides the mall, where else can i find Santa for photos? Photos with Santa at the mall are so expensive. I'm looking for a santa outside of the mall, because i know it will be less expensive. If you know let me know thanks.

P.S. does Toys r us ever have santa? This will be my first year taking my son to take a picture with santa. t

Even at the Mall... they WILL let you use your own camera... to take the photos.
THAT is what we do. We do that every, year.
We simply ask them, they say 'sure...' then my kids go and sit with Santa... and WE take the photos with OUR camera.
It is fine.
LOTS of other people, do that too.

They cannot tell you no.
Because that would be like 'forcing' you to purchase the photo.

All the best,
Susan

I work at a grocery store (Albertson's) and Santa comes every year! The store offers a free 4x6 photo w/the options to make prints or cards at an extra charge!

It's great.

I know CA has Albertson's (just not sure how far south they go?) if I were you, I would start calling around, they are FREE and the extra prints are so CHEAP!

Check out your local animal rescues. Petsmart often does a Pet Pictures with Santa event, and while each rescue sets their own policies, I know the one I work with welcomes children as well. The lines are often much shorter, too.

If you have a Cabelas or Bass Pro in your area they have days where Santa comes. They give you a free pic and you are welcome to bring your own camera and take as many shots as you can get.

Check out community and neighborhood/church/civic organization celebrations. Many of those have Santa attend and you can take your own camera and take pictures. The zoo here also did that a few weeks ago, and the Botanical Gardens here are doing it again this Saturday. One area of the city near us did it last Saturday and our neighborhood parent's network throws a Winter Wonderland for kids in conjunction with the local tour of homes and a crafts fair this Saturday. We have the best-looking Santa I've ever seen! You can take several photos with your camera for free! See if you can find something like that around you.

Toys R Us here never has Santa, but I'm all the way across the country from you, so they may there.

Around here, Bass Pro Shops have free pictures (you get one free copy, but you can purchase the download for around $2 and print whatever you want), and I took my camera and took several more. (http://www.basspro.com/homepage.html)

You can go to places around town where Santa 'visits' and take your own. He comes to my church, there is a Santa Bus that goes through town, and there is a Christmas Train that Santa rides that stops in town. I have heard of Santa being at McDonald's, Wal-Mart, Children's Orchard, and other kid-friendly places. Call around....you never know where he will show up!

Do you have a Bass Pro Shop near you? They have a wonderful set up every year and its free. They will take a pic and you can snap away with your own camera. We drove almost two hours on Thanksgiving morning to go visit Santa plus hubby got his christmas present early also. They have an area to write Santa a letter and crafts to do at specified times. check it out.

If you can afford it you should look into having a professional Santa visit your home or community Christmas party. We have used the same Great Santa Claus, Santa Allen www.SantaAllen.com for the last few years and he is the only Santa that my kids have ever had. He is not cheap, but worth it!
