Room Rentals for 1St Birthday Party?

Our house is tiny and we have rented a park shelter for my son's 1st birthday. However, it's in a little over 2 weeks and the weather isn't looking so great. I'm looking for a backup location such as a meeting room somewhere. I want to be able to bring our own food and to decorate a little. I'm willing to do a deposit, but I don't want it to be huge in case we end up being able to use the park. Any suggestions in the IGH, W. St. Paul area? Thanks!

What can I do next?

My kids and I have been to 2 birthday parties at Central Square in South St. Paul. They have meeting rooms and are reasonably priced. Have fun!

What about the YMCA in West St. Paul? They have a wonderful party room you can decorate. If the children are too young for swimming they have a gym where the kids could just run around and play with balls.

Have Fun!

Try your local rec center or community center. They rent rooms. Also, some Davanni's restaurants have party rooms at no extra cost, but you obviously need to have pizza! Maybe a neighborhood church would rent a room.

What I am doing is in Lakeville... but I am sure you could find something in that area too. A hotel was just remodeled and the pool is now like a waterpark. There is a big waterslide, and a baby one. Tons of fountains spraying water and stuff in the baby pool, and then in the big pool there are basketball hoops for the big kids/adults. We were there last Sat for my cousins "home from Iraq" party and my son just went crazy! There were also many much younger kids there too, the water is only up to my ankles, so great for young kids of any age. My son has always been afraid when I take him swimming... but he just ran in here and went crazy, and all the other kids were doing the same thing. I was trying to figure out what to do for his birthday, so I reserved a poolside room, and everyone that comes gets use of the pool that way. We have a room to decorate and set food out in, and can spend the night and maybe swim some more in the morning. For my son, it will be the best party he could have. It really is cheap if you consider what you would be paying if you went to a waterpark and had to pay everyones admission, and then you wouldn't have your private room to decorate and everything too. This hotel is right off of 35 in Lakeville, it is the Holiday Inn. But I am sure you could find something like that in your area. I am guessing your party is the same day as ours? April 21st? (my son's 3rd b-day) Good luck, don't get too stressed out over the party!
