I'm looking for a place that sells rocking chairs. I looked into the sliders that they sell at Babies R Us, which are very nice, but so expensive? I just want a simple rocking chair, or a slider that is at a discounted rate. We looked at Wickes Furniture too with no luck. Any suggestions?
We ended up getting the slider and ottoman pair from Wal-mart, very reasonably priced. Thanks to you all who advised me! I had no idea walmart even sold sliders, and I go there all the time. Thanks, all mamas!

i have seen a variety of rocking chairs on-line at Target.com. good luck finding one.
You can get really cheap ones at Walmart. Below is a link to some of them. However, you get what you pay for. I bought the $89 one and the fabric is falling apart somewhat after a year (it is usable, but not very pretty). I ended up buying a lazyboy recently because I have another child on the way now. The one I bought was $299, which is significantly less expensive than purchasing a rocker and automan from Babies R Us. I would suggest this option if you want something that is more comfortable and will last.

craigslist.org has used gliders and rocking chairs posted all the time. I got a great one at half-price.
Try Once Upon A Child....it's a gently used store for kids stuff... I wish that I would have been introduced to the store a while ago because you're right, the sliders are expensive but you can get them highly discounted at Once Upon A Child. They have several locations...I would call first and let them know what you're looking for. They are very helpful.
You could also look for a used chair on craigslist.com. It's like a garage sale on line - you connect with people locally and go to their house and pick it up.
My friend just got a nice one at Burlington Coat Factory last year. She's very happy with it.
I purchased mine at Wal-mart. They start around $100.00 and go up from there. I spent $200.00 on mine and love it! I bought it online and had it delivered to my home. It came in two pieces and was a cinch to assemble. The ottoman was also included in my purchase price of $200.00.

Try Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Center, they are reasonably priced.
My sister bought me a glider and foot stool from Target.com and it was like 129.99....serves the purpose, and is comfortable.

try value city department store. found a glider for 79 w/no footrest. also try walmart. if you decide to go to vc, i have discounts that i dont think i'll be able to use before expiration date. good luck!
