My husband has been in the mortgage business/sales for years now, he has to make a career change and is looking into having his resume written professionally, we found a place that helps with recruiters and stuff but they want $700 to rewrite his resume. Not only do I think that is high, we have never had this done before. My husband has a business degree and has made 6 figures for the past 5 years. But since he has to make a career change we do think it is best to get things done professionally.

My question is, has anyone ever had their resume written professionally..., and if so, was it worth it? and though I know there are other companies that will write it for much less also for much higher like 3k, is it like you get what you pay for type of thing. We have never done this before and have no idea what to expect.

Also, just to make this clear, we have a ton of head hunters and have posted with resume rabbit (over 75 websites)you name the site his resume is on it, we even paid a service call Ladders to help with our job search we have been looking for a good paying job now for the past 4 months, everything has come up short, and I think it has to do with his resume, the head hunters that redue them try to fit them in a database, we really are looking for some serious professional help not something that will put us in the big black hole of resume/job searches. Any information on this matter would be helpful. THANKS

What can I do next?

I would think that is very high. I may be wrong but I think if you go w/ a good head hunter that should be included in the service and a lot do not require a fee until you find the right job.

Sounds like a lot, but not sure what type of work he is wanting so might be worth the $700. Have you tried talking to head hunter? When my brother used one a while back they did a resume for him I don't remember the cost, but it was not $700.

I have never paid to have my resume written, but for $700 I'd expect a money back guarantee. At the same time, as a teacher, I've never made, "well over six figures" in a year.. so I guess I'm in the wrong field to advise.
