Hi Mom's
We are celebrating a milestone bday next week and would like a recommendation from all of you for a fabulous restaurant in the area. (Seafood would be most preferred). We were thinking of cafe' pacific (the only thing I know of that is 5star) in Highland Park but wanted to get some recommendations for other fab restaurants. I am a non-local and not up to snuff on the dining out and would love a recomendation.
Thanks a lot!
Happy New Year...
K.

Cafe Pacific has incredible atmosphere (not really child friendly) but not the best seafood, IMO. I love Nate's Seafood in Addison and Allen.

Other fabulous restaurants: the Hotel St. Germaine restuarant (this would be a huge splurge; it's quite expensive and really too much food, but very romantic and luxurious); Hattie's in Oak Cliff; and Hector's on McKinney Ave are some of our favorites, but we don't eat out on that level very much!

Good luck! I enjoyed reading about your children - so sorry for your child who didn't survive pregnancy, but rejoicing with you for your other two gifts from God.

If you're looking for great service, romantic atmosphere, and price is not an issue, try the Cafe on the Green at the Four Seasons Resort and Hotel in Irving. My husband and I went there for Valentines last year and it was one of our best dining experiences ever. Tell them it's a special occasion and I guarantee you'll get extra special treatment!

I am not a seafood fan but we do enjoy high end restaurants. I think we have been to most around here in the last 20 years.

As for seafood, Arcodoro which is off McKinney downtown Dallas is very nice. They have this fish they cook covered in rock salt and hubby LOVES it. They bring it to you, crack it open and it is quite good. The salt seals in the flavors. We have cooked prime rib this way and it is excellent.

Newport's is located in the West End Dallas area and is very nice as well.

My most favorite high end restaurant is Del Frisco's (Spring Valley/Tollway) They are known for steaks but they do have great seafood as well. It is a dark wood, clubbish atmosphere with EXCELLENT service and food. When we go it is usually $200+ for the 2 of us because we also enjoy a nice bottle of wine.

III Forks (Trinity Mills/Tollway) is excellent and great service as well. The atmosphere there is more counrty western and I just don't get into that but I LOVE the food.

Enjoy!!
