Does anyone have a recommendation for a fun, family-friendly restaurant in the St. Louis area? I am planning a big 40th Birthday celebration for my husband with relatives and friends from all over the country on a weekend away there in October. I need a place that will accept a Saturday night reservation for a group of 30 plus people (including kids) where the food is good and not too expensive (since I am paying for everyone), and the atmosphere is fun. I've tried Fitz's but they won't take any reservations. Thanks for any advice or help you can give!

Is Zia's on the hill still open?? It's been years since I lived there, but it was one of my favorite restaurants. They have a back room area that should accomodate all of you and when you are done, you can walk down to Milos and have a nightcap while the kids play bocce ball!

Have a great time!

I'm not sure if kids are allowed, but McGurk's in St. Louis is sooooo yummy! It's an Irish bar that has a beautiful courtyard complete w/ a garden and waterfall. We went there a few years ago and were expecting your typical bar food. Their food is anything but! It was so delicious w/ many different unique options to pick from. Their website is, www.mcgurks.com and you can click on the picture link and check out the patio. It's under green grows the garden. It looks like they take reservations for the patio as well as inside. I highly suggest checking into them! Yummy!! I want to go there again now!! :) Have fun!!

i don't know what your idea of "not expensive" is but old spaghetti factory" was fan tastic food and very resonabe. our bill was 50 bucks for 2 adults (1 drink apiece) and 2 children. that never happens! the food is "bellisimo"
the other thing you could think about is a riverboat dinner cruise, in the eve. that may just what the Dr. ordered. that would be beautiful. if memory serves... it's about 20-25 dollars/adult for a 2- 2.5 hour ride. Good Luck and i hope you have the perfect time, whatever you do.

This is the Hill area of St. Louis. It's Italian and most of them have good family atmosphere's. I would personally recomment Cunettos. It's been several years since I've been there but the food is fantastic. They used to take reservations. Check out their website (or any of the other restaurants).

Good luck on your search!

You should try The Old Spaghetti Factory, we were there in May and it was great.
