I am looking for a really good bakery in town. My husband loves donuts and pastries and his birthday is coming up and I wanted to order him some really good donuts. Somewhere where they are reeaally fresh, homemade tasting and yummy!

What can I do next?

I'm a fan of LaMar's Donuts- off Antioch and College. Also Steve's Donuts at Quivira and 87th is YUM!

Do not overlook the bakery at Costco. I have purchased some really good cakes from there.

Krispy Cream on Metcalf. They can do a donut birthday cake, which is really beautiful. They offer icing in different colors as well. I ordered one for Valentine's day in their special Valentine's heart shape and colors. They gave me a specific time and when I arrived to pick it up, it was still warm and smelled delicious. It was also a big hit at the party, had several compliments. Best of luck to you!

Penguins Donuts in Stanley Station off 151st and Metcalf in OP, KS...they have other locations also:
Olathe at 151st and I-35, Overland Park at College and Quivera and maybe more???

Try the Penguin Puffies......the best little puffy donut around, unlike any donut! The only sell these on Friday, Saturday and Sundays and they run out fast. But you can put a pre-order in and they will hold them back for you.

A good all around bakery (but she doesn't do donuts) is Irina's Bakery in Leawood, Ks (119th & Roe). She does beautiful cakes and pastries.

YUMMY!

For wonderful fresh homemade donuts and apple fritters, visit John's Space Age Donuts, 8124 Floyd Street. It's located less than a block west of Metcalf near Downtown Overland Park.

YES! Ridgewood Donuts is great! They always have coupons in the KC Clips magazine in each Sunday KCStar for buy 6 donuts get 6 free.

And I do agree that Costco has some very yummy cakes. I think they even still have a Cheesecake Factory cheesecake with 4 slices each of four different flavors. (And less than Cheesecake Factory would charge!)

Good Morning,

Ridgewood Doughnuts (and bakery) is in Independence on Blue Ridge Blvd. It is across from the Blue Ridge Bank tower near I-70. You can't go wrong there!

Also, Big Mama's Rolls & Village Donuts in Raytown in Woodsen Village at 63rd and Woodson. A big baked gooey cinnimon roll is the forte, the doughnuts are all very good.

Casey's General Stores have good ones too. Especially the French Cruellars.

There are also several Lamar's Doughnuts around town, you can't go wrong there either.

You husband will love you for this!
