I was out weeding in flip flops and accidently stepped into a ant farm and they tore me up! I can't stop itching and it burns (and this happened yesterday). Is there any remedy? I used hydrocoritizone (over the counter) and some Homepathic bite care remedy....but its not bringing any relief.

What can I do next?

Try blowing hot air from a hair dryer on the bites. Sounds crazy, but it really worked for me. Just heat them until you can't stand it anymore.

Soak your feet in epsionsalt. U can also make it into a paste. Take oral benydral. I'm super allergic and that helps me. My eye swelled shut from 1 bite on my toe. Crazy little ants:(

Ouch!!!! I am not sure if you have little ones or not, but breastmilk can take the sting and itch out of so many things. Hope you feel better soon.

Put pinesol or lysol on it. I know it sounds crazy but it works.

I don't know if it will work at this point (since it's been a while since they bit you) but what I use on almost all insect bites/stings that are painful is roll-on antiperspirant deodorant. It's a trick my mom taught me (that my ped from when I was a kid told her about) that works wonders. I've personally used it on spider bites and ant bites, and my mom has used it on wasp stings before. I've never tried stick antiperspirant (for this remedy) so I don't know if it would work or not, but I KNOW the roll-on does. I keep a small container of the roll-on around JUST for these kinds of things.

(I've used this on fire ant bites on my daughter within the past two weeks.)

Deodorant I swear it works & it works on mosquito bites too. It doesn't matter what kind but the itching will stop for awhile. My kids tested so many things out for bites this summer & this worked the best.

Wonder if a paste of baking soda and water would help ? Or meat tenderizer and water ? It works for bee & wasp stings. Might be worth a try.

That's happened to me too! It's awful. A paste of baking soda and water plastered on until it's dry and falls off, followed by wiping the bite with white vinegar if it's still itchy. Works for me every time.

My mother-in -law always uses bleach for fire ant bites. She's used it on my son before and it appeared to give him instant relief.

For any bites/stings, I use what my mom used on us kids: A paste made up of baking soda and water. Put a little pad of it on the bite(s), let it dry and rub it off or let it just fall off. Hopefully it helps!

Yes, they itch horribly.....

I'm not sure I can suggest much more than what others have said, especially since it happened yesterday.

But... if you can resist the urge to pop that little white pustule on top, they will heal MUCH faster.......

I really like something called After Bite. You can find it in the first aid section at Walmart or CVS. Totally helps. This happens to us a lot!
