Heartland of Beavercreek, is not a very nice facility. A Urine stench runs a muck through out the building. We had place my mom there briefly(less than a week), before moving her to Trinity in Beavercreek. Trinity was a very nice place. There wasn't smell, people seemed nice enough. My mom didn't have too many complaints ;-)She was there about 3 months.

Also a year later my dad needed respitory rehab, he went to Bellbrook Rehab & Healthcarae Center. He seem to like it okay-
it was clean, and the people were nice.

Hope this helps..
Kathy

I would definitely not have her sent to any of the heartland nursing homes. I worked in Heartland of Centerville, and since they are for profit, their eyes are always on the bottom line, and unfortunately, patient care suffers for it. I also worked at Bethany Lutheran Village on 48 in Centerville, and though it's a little bit of a trek to get that far south of town, I would definitey recommend their rehab unit. If I had to put my family member in a nursing home for any reason, I would chose Bethany. I've also dealt with Maria Joseph and Vandalia Park, having clients from a previous job admitted there for rehab, and both are passable. Tell your friend to make sure she monitors her grandmother's care closely to make sure she's getting the services she needs and is paying for. I've found that vigilance and being forthright are necessary when dealing with nursing homes in general. Tell your friend not to worry if she feels like she's being a pain in the butt... sometimes there's no way around it!

I work at Bethany Lutheran Village as an aid and I would certainly recommend it to any and everyone (including my own family). Having worked at many different nursing homes and being in different settings for nursing school BLV has the nicest rehab center. The staff is great, the unit manager has won national recognition for her roles in customer service, and if for any reason the grandmother may fall ill and need to stay, it is a great care facility as well.
