Ok so here is the deal with my older son it was like nothing getting him to switch from his formula to his milk because we started at ten months trying little sips here and there. it also was easy i think because he learned to drink from a straw before he ever used a sippy cup. But now my just turned one year old has been on soy fornula and will not take regular soy milk he will through his bottle on the ground and forget it. when we give him his sippy cup he doesnt do so much drinking from it as he does like to spray water all over himself so i am a little weery of giving him milk n that. We have tried the vanilla flavor and the plain flavor niether worked! We put him on Similac Go and Grow which is for older babies but very expensive. and would really like to not have to buy two a week!! a fourty bucks out of the budget!!anyways since i have no clue what i am doing i figured there would be some advice out there!!! Thank you again!!!

Try weening him slowly. Give him 3/4 formula and 1/4 milk mixed together for 2-3 days. Then 2/3 formula and 1/3 milk for 2-3 more days. Then 1/2 and 1/2 for 2-3 days. Then 1/4 formula and 3/4 milk until he takes the milk without formula. I had to do this with one of my boys. It worked for us. Hope it works for you. Good luck.

My best advice would be a gradual switch... start giving him 3/4 formula with 1/4 milk for a couple days. Then 1/2 formula and 1/2 milk for a few more days, then 1/4 formula and 3/4 milk... you get the idea. I hope this is helpful :)

I don't know anything about soy milk. But my son would throw his cup of whole milk across the room as well. My pediatrician recommended Carnation Instant Breakfast in his milk. My son favored Chocolate only at first, then eventually took vanilla or strawberry flavors. If your using soy milk because of an allergy maybe this won't work if he's allergic to Carnation's ingredients, not sure.

Shauna's advice was on target. Just add the milk gradually to the formula. Each day put less formula and more milk in the cup. Pretty soon he'll be completely off of the formula without even realizing what happened!
